Donovan signature shoe?

I haven't bought actual basketball shoes in probably a decade. I play a lot outside so I use crosstrainer-type shoes there on pavement or concrete, and I have 3 pair I use for indoor use that I just have had no need to stop using or add to. But I think I will get a pair of these when they come out.

Ya, the last b-ball shoes I bought were iversons that I bought probably 15-20 years ago. They are still in pretty good shape since I only wear them when I play competitive indoor b-ball and that rarely happens anymore.

I might buy these shoes if they are $150 or less. Can’t really go any higher than that though.

How much are people thinking they might cost?

Yeah, definitely no higher. I'd even think closer to the $100 mark for an 'unproven' rookie.. at least when it comes to marketing and selling shoes.

You guys are crazy... it’ll be 130-150... these ain’t And1s.

I will buy them all!

I think the pricing will be interesting. Paul George's shoe goes for $110 and Dame's is $115. Kyrie's goes for $120. Westbrook's is $125. Curry's is $130. Harden's is $140. KD's is $150. LeBron's is $185.

Wouldn't it be kind of weird for his shoe to cost more than Dame's? But, a shoe below $110 might be seen as too downmarket or something.

Dame purposefully keeps his shoe specs down so they can remain relatively budget friendly (for a signature model). Its why you'll never see boost on a Dame shoe.

Donovan's, if he actually has a shoe, would probably be 110. With most athletes they do small price bumps on every new release.

Early prototype of Joe Ingles new signature shoe.

I think Dame 4 is a good comparison. If those go for $115, I would think Donovan's would go for something very similar.

----------------------- Unless the shoe gets some type of Marvel Spiderman tie in, which in that case would bump it 25-50%.

For Donovan, that pairing could be absolute genius. With Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and some other Marvel stars poised to leave, I could see the Spiderman film series around a while with Tom Holland in the leading role. It would open the door for Donovan into that rabid Marvel fan base.
