Let's make some predictions on who averages more minutes, points and 3PT attempts.
This is a multiple choice poll so you can select one option for each pair of questions.

Personally, I think Dante may start off with more minutes and might lead Mitchell in all categories through December. However, by end of year, I see Mitchell pushing for a lot more playing time. Might mean Hood at the 3, with Ingles backing up the 2/3. There's a possibility that happens after training camp, but Quin and Dennis may not want to put that much pressure on Donovan right at the start.

Exum will get more minutes. Mitchell will be more productive. By the middle to the end of the season we may see Mitchell's minutes coming up. There just isn't much of a track record for Utah playing promising rookies very much, regardless of the coach. It will however be interesting to see if QS bucks this trend and amps Mitchell up when he starts performing well.

My head says Exum, my koolaid filled heart says DM.

Why vs? How about both tear it up and have good chemistry?

Some of that is due to personnel in front of the rookies and simply where the Jazz drafted. Several lottery picks have gotten significant playing time.

Deron averaged 29 mins, although in his case it was partly because Larry Miller intervened and used the word "fire" in some context with Ol' Jerry. Exum averaged 22 mins his rookie season; Hood got 21. Trey Burke averaged 32 mins.

Hayward was raw and only got 17, while others like Kanter, Gobert and Lyles were clearly projects and didn't get a lot of mins their rookie seasons. I think Mitchell is ready to go. But the Jazz are loaded at the wing positions. So I agree with you that Exum may get mroe minute early on. So could Burks. Jazz may want to shop both of them. Perhaps post-December or after the trade deadline, Mitchell could very well see a lot of minutes.

They looked great together in summer league and had great chemistry but you know it was summer league and all.

I really want both of these guys to play extremely well this year. I think I have more faith in DM right now, but I have always been a Dante homer. At this point I feel like I would be surprised if Dante averaged close to 10 ppg, but at the same time they hype around Mitchell is so great that I would be surprised if he DIDN'T average over 10 ppg and show a ton of promise his rookie year.
