What's new

Don't Ask, Don't Tell is officially history!!

You would probably be shocked to know that the military as a whole is far more socially liberal than most Americans would guess. In fact, I would say most military members have a much more enlightened, well rounded view on a wide range of subjects than most civilians.

I'm not shocked at all; I would agree with that. My quip about the 2nd grade mindset was aimed both at the people who are deciding the fate of DADT as well as the media-stereotyped heterosexual soldier who is committed to Red Coding the openly gay soldier (sorry I didn't make that clearer). Though we disagree, I hope you can at least see my point.

You lost me here. Do me an argument about logistics?

Maybe I didn't understand what you meant, but I read it as gays are somehow inherently less apt to serve than someone that is straight. I probably misunderstood, which is why it sounded so insanely stupid.

also there are bigger issues. dogfighting is illegal(mostly done by blacks) cockfighting is illegal (mostly done by latinos), but bullfighting and rodeo(which is mostly done by the MIGHTY WHITE MAN) which is equally cruel is legal. so that is a fine example of a set of laws that is bigotry and racist.

instead politicians waste their time on arguing letting gays in the army

Bullfighting is not legal in the US and the rodeo is hardly the same as forcing two animals to fight practically to the death.
