don't believe the hype - only Jabari parker is the sure thing

Was he really 245 lbs doe? I'd have to see it for myself. Don't trust those weight machines.

i have no reasons not to believe it. and his body fat was ridiculous at 6.7%. just nothing but a pure horse meat. right now he is at 255lb. even lower body fat, and just 10lb of naturally gained muscle.

His. Vertical. Has. Been. Measured.

End of discussion.

randy moss was said to measured and his vert is supposed to be 48 inch.

like i said, i don't believe everything they say. deion sanders supposedly ran 4.1 40 dash.

many believe MJ's vert was 48 inch. MJ vert was most likely 42-44inch.

if i had to guess, wiggins would be somewhere between 38-42 inch max vert. that's impressive. if he really is 44 inch guy then i'll be madly impressed. no matter what happens, i think he will be a top 4 pick for sure. just too much hype, and too much potential.

Not saying that anyone need to consider this guy as a draft pick. However i believe he will be an NBA player if he keeps developing. I am talking about Delon Wright of the Utah Utes. Kid is averaging 16 ppg on 70% shooting from the field with over 6 boards and 6 assists. He is the little brother of Dorell Wright of the blazers. 6-5 guard with a real all around type game. Just the kind who will make a great second round pick and make someone happy with that pick. He is a junior, a transfer from a JC program in San Fran. Probably stays his senior year at Utah. Anyone seen him play? Your thoughts.

anyway, my point being is there are 4-6 legit potentially great guys, but by no means they are sure thing.

but only 1 guy is a surest thing. because IMO jabari parker's floor is paul pierce.

and this is what legit 44 inch vertical looks like. dude is 5ft 9 1/2 vertical trainer

Max vertical tests are not reliable at all. Russel Westbrook only had a max vertical of 36.5" and is considered one of the most athletic players in the history of the league. Want to know who also had a max of 36.5"? Trey Burke.

Then there are weird cases like this:

Michael Carter Williams
standing vertical: 31.5
max vertcal: 41

Harrison Barnes
standing vertical: 38
max vertical: 39.5

What to make of that? MCW wins the max but Barnes has the higher average by far. Whose leaping ability will better translate to the NBA?

^good post. Something verts don't take into account is bounciness. Time it takes to 'wind up' and reach that max vert. Some are just fast off the floor (think Evans). Also, time between max verts.. recovery. Springs.

Andrew Wiggins has THAT.
