Draft day trade with the New Jersey Nets

Utah Gives
Derrick Favors
Devin Harris
This years #3 Pick
Next years Golden State Warriors pick

Utah Receives
Deron Williams

I checked, and this trade works in the ESPN trade machine.

I think this helps our backcourt a lot in that we add one of the most dynamic playmakers in the NBA.

In return New Jersey receives a high potential forward, a solid point guard, and a number of picks for their future.

I don't know how you don't do this trade, and to be quite honest, I'm not sure of many NBA front offices that would be willing to part with Deron Williams for these spare parts. With the weak upcoming draft, the possibility of not even receiving Golden State's pick next year, the inconsistency of Devin Harris, and the huge gap between total potential and what has actually been realized in Derrick Favors, I can't imagine New Jersey going for it.

Obviously, it would take a poorly run, dysfunctional franchise going through a difficult period of transition, with an owner that is the mediocre product of the rich to actually do something like this (which Jay-Z is not), but it is fun to speculate!

Don't want it, I'm much more excited to see what the Jazz can do without Williams. They have been there and done that. Lets now see the future of the Jazz come together.

ps

Deron, Hayward, Miles, Millsap, Jefferson < Harris, Hayward, Miles, Favors, Jefferson
Jimmer, Bell, Evans, Fez < Jimmer, Bell, Evans, Millsap, Kanter

One thing that makes this trade look a lot better, is NJ is in a much different scenario than Utah is. If NJ can get one superstar, which they have, and when they become Brooklyn, they will be in a great position to develop their own super team. NJ gave up a lot for Deron, but they have a chance now to get a lot because of Deron.

Devin Harris, Derrick Favors, Enes Kanter, Austin Rivers > Dwill

Plus 3 million cash and you can say that if we had Dwill we wouldn't of been able to keep our pick. Hopefully Jimmer or Singleton. Thank You Dwill....I will always cheer for you!!!!

Man this thread really put it in perspective how lopsided that trade was and how KOC did the right thing, But dang, I miss Deron!

It was a good trade for both teams. NJ was in dire need of a superstar after Carmelo joined Amare in New York. Deron and Brook are two solid building blocks. They just need to add one more star and develop a solid bench and they'll be in the mix in the EC.
