Here is my dream draft:
1. Kanter/Irving
2. Kanter/Irving (Wolves trade it)
3. Williams

12. Jimmer

Line up:

Harris/Jimmer
Hayward/Bell
Williams/CJ/Evans
Favors/Millsap
Jefferson/Okur/Fesenko

How competitive would this team be?

Jazz would have shooting, youth with a mix of veterans, athleticism, big men, great bench with Jimmer, Millsap, Okur, CJ. Defense would probably depend alot on Williams and if he can defend the 3 spot. But this looks like a well balanced team and would be the best scenario in my opinion.

I voted Heat vs. Jazz, because...

My dream draft/outlook below:

Dream draft
1. Irving
2. Williams
3. Kanter (I'd even pick Kanter #1 if we got the #1 pick)

12. Jimmer

I actually think that's quite a realistic draft for us.

Line up

Harris/Jimmer
Hayward/Bell
Millsap/Miles
Kanter/Evans
Favors/Jefferson/Okur

- I think if you tell Millsap, 'Go get slimmer and quicker' - I think he can do it. He's already got all the skills of a SF, so it's just the physical changes that he need. If DWill_2 can do it, he can too.
- Harris - give him a chance to run the team. Hopefully he will get better with age.
- Evans need to be told to bulk up and I think he can be a back up PF if need be.
- Start Jefferson at C & Favors starts at PF for 3/4 of the season, Kanter comes off the bench. Then Kanter takes over at PF and move Favors to C.

This team won't be competitive straight away, but the prospect of Favors & Kanter is too good to pass up. Not often do you get a skilled big man like Kanter and his ceiling has got to be limitless.

No way the Jazz bench Jefferson.

He'll start most of next season.

The season after it'll be his last - so may be trade him as an expiring contract.

I don't think Jefferson is our future. He was only brought in to please DWill. Now that DWill is gone, we've got to be thinking about the future.

- Too slow
- Black hole - ball stops way too much
- No team defense
- Lazy in practices (rumours only)

Hey, don't forget Millsap and Jefferson have taken the off-season to work together... one of Jefferson's poor spots was his 'boxing out' ability.

I think Millsap working with him may improve that ability, because Millsap is EXCELLENT at boxing for the rebound. (That was the one glaring deficiencies I saw from Jefferson), otherwise I don't mind him "black-holing" it, because he was pretty damn good at finishing most of the time. (Top 3 leading scorer in NBA after the All-Star break/Trading D-Will)

Also, it seemed as the season went on he gained trust in finishers like Hayward, late in the season and this will only develop. Don't give up on Jefferson he has an incredible post game for his size.

Millsap does not box out any better than Jefferson. His whole rebounding game is built around out jumping and out hustling the opponent for the ball. That is a major reason his rebounding is much worse against starters than it is against backups.

This lineup would be out of play-off contention by late January.

Replacing the backup pg with a rookie won't change much, if anything its a downgrade for the first 3 months.

Same for the woefull sf spot, Williams will have a steep curve learning to gaurd NBA wings.--Expect heavy ammounts of CJ with that lineup.

Even with the draft this team is going to have some holes to fill.

As much as I drool at a kanter favors front line I don't know what I want. I am leaning towards Williams kanter just because I want Jimmer at 12. Toronto will take either knight or walker and sactown will take who ever is left over leaving Jimmer for 12

Just posted this in another thread. Here's mine.

#3: Draft BPA. If Kanter and Knight are there, go Kanter. Field offers. If the Wiz are interested like the rumors state, and Knight falls to them, trade them Kanter for Knight and an unprotected 1st next year. Washington's other two picks this year are nice. But hold out for the unprotected 1st.

#12: Biyombo. Get him here or move up to get him but get him one way or the other.

Then, buy a couple picks and draft BPA wings.

If we can come out of this with Knight (via Washington), Washington's unprotected 1st next year, Biyombo, and one or two other intriguing prospects, I'd ****.

This is my dream. A dream yes it is. But we all have them and sometimes they come true.

Everyone seems to be off the Knight bandwagon. Good, we are making progress.

I'm not. I'm just torn between Kanter and Knight. To me it's a toss up. So if we can draft BPA (Kanter I would think), then trade down swapping said pick for Knight, and in the process get additional pick(s), I'm all for it.

Not really possible because Toronto would swoop up Knight at 5 and have no extra picks (except a second round one). They may offer a protected future 1st, but it would take forever to collect as bad as they are.

And if you ultimately want Knight, then you still get your guy, plus whatever it is they give you.

Also, there ARE other players in this draft. If KOC is omniscient about whose going to draft who, he'll know what to do.

I wasn't aware Toronto already committed to Knight. Good to know.
