What's new

DuhBron will win NONE of the Championships.

The Mavs pull it off. The Heat had a 15+ free throw advantage and missed 13 free throws which made all the difference.

...looked like the Heat were getting alot of touch fouls, just like last time they won the thing against the Mav's. However....this time they missed a ton of them and it didn't work! Over all, though, I'd say the games were pretty evenly reffed.

LBJ is no MJ. I hope he never wins a champ and I hope cleveland is laughing as hard as they can at him. LEBRON CHOKES HARD.

I lost some respect for Pippen's IQ when he put Lebron on par with, or even ahead of MJ recently. Especially coming from a guy like him, who has seen MJ in close quarters.
Also he said something like "MJ is a great scorer, but LBJ is the greater player" or something along those lines. Could'nt be more wrong. what was he thinking? Was he on heavy booze or something? Scoring was just one of many things that MJ did as a champion. He was an all-NBA first team defender, playmaker and more importantly a great clutch player who would never disappear or fade down the stretch the way Lebron has done TWICE already in his career. It is laughable to compare him to MJ.

I read an article that said "Forget Jordan, Lebron is no Pippen" which sounds closer to truth as of now.

The league always likes to do what it can to get people interested in watching the games.

Telling everyone that right now we are seeing "the greatest player" ever is a common hook. The league might even get commentators, refs, players, bloggers, etc. to do what they can to build that hero myth.

This was really uncharted territory for LeBron. He had had bad games in the playoffs (including the bizarre Celtics game last year), but would usually show up the next game and dump a huge game on the opponent.

The last few game he just looked scared or something. Very strange.

Also the lovely comment afterwards in response to the "What do you think about all the people rooting against you" question:

"All the people that were rooting on me to fail, at the end of the day they have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today. They have the same personal problems they had today. I'm going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things that I want to do with me and my family and be happy with that. So they can get a few days or a few months or whatever the case may be on being happy about not only myself, but the Miami Heat not accomplishing their goal. But they got to get back to the real world at some point."

I bet he wishes he had that one back.

It is the sense of entitlement that makes LBJ so insuffferable, and will also make it very hard for him to get over that hump. He will have to bring in at least one more all-star to get there. When they add Chris Paul (let's say) they will become the dynasty he imagines, but not before. To me this makes any championship they might win that way even more hollow. Jordan was the super-star, Pippen was a solid all-star. That was about it. Beyond that they had solid coaching, great role-players who bought into the philosophy, and a super-star who would not take losing for an answer. Period.

If LeBron wins one with 3 other super/all-stars around him, how could that possibly mean anything or say anything about LeBron as a player? That is like saying the East All-stars beat the Mavs to win the Championship. Isn't that a big "duh"?

I agree with some of this. Ledouche reeks of the entitlement, look at me, I'm special that stems from the AAU circuit. But saying Pippen was just a solid all-star is just wrong. He is the best wing defender of all-time. Ever. Offensively, he could do so much and with a mediocre team, took them to game seven in the second round of the playoffs, without Michael, where they lost to the Knicks who should have beaten Houston in the Finals. Nothing amazing but pretty solid.

The Heat are only going to get better. The Mavs are only going to get worse. See you next year Miami.

Huh?

Why are the Mavs only going to get worse? And why are the Heat only going to get better?

Is Bosh going to all of a sudden put on 50 pounds and will be more willing to bang inside?
Will Wade all of a sudden develop a 3 point shot?
Will Lebron finally develop skills after 8 years of bullying his way into the key?

The Mavs were without Haywood for most of the Finals and Caron Butler for all the post season. Having Butler would have improved Dallas drastically. The Dirk isn't showing any signs of slowing down (why would he? He's not that old). Neither has Terry, Marion, or Chandler. Kidd is old and definitely on the decline. But he isn't asked to do much anyway.

I don't buy this whole thing that Miami is going to get better while Dallas is going to get worse.

Miami is locked into 3 very large contracts. Their legit centers are on their last legs (Big Z, Dampier, and Howard). Chalmers doesn't have a high ceiling and Bibby sucks. Jones and Miller are one dimensional.

Dallas also has Cuban.

I see Miami has as great of a chance of declining as anybody. While Dallas has just as good of a chance of repeating as anyone else.
