Durant, I'm told, will cite mental and physical exhaustion when the decision to leave Team USA for this summer is made official


Hayward is so gonna make it now. Will have to play a lot of stretch four.
 
I'm still not 100% sure he makes it. The wings left are Parsons, Thompson, Derozan, Hayward, Harden, and Korver.

If they think Hayward is big enough to play the 4 it gives him an edge.

He's better than Korver and Parsons, and that is saying no other position has players cut.
 
Well its probably pretty safe to say this will pave the way for Gordon Hayward to make the team.His versatility will be needed even more ,not that he can make up the difference from Durants departure ,but Hayward can fill the stat sheets more than the others he was on the bubble with.
It will be the points that team USA will miss the most ,who will be the guy who gets the points in crunch time.
 
Well, that makes the basketball version of the World Cup that much less interesting. Durantula is so much fun to watch in any setting. My prediction that team USA isn't going to win the world cup is looking better though I guess. It's hard to take the fatigue reasoning and not to attribute this to Paul George injury fallout though. Hopefully this isn't the end of him playing for Team USA from here on out and he really just need to take a summer off.

Can Hayward go from the bubble to starting

C) Davis
PF) Fareid
SF) Hayward
SG) Harden
PG) DRose

All kind of directions Coach K can go with the starting lineup now

Pretty sure it has something to do with the OKC front office though, not him personally.


Steven Adams told NZ basketball that he was available to play for the World Cup provided they can sort out an insurance for him. NZ Basketball pulled together the money - but then Adams back-tracked and said he's doing Summer League instead and won't be able to make the World Cup. This episode tells me Adams initially wanted to represent but something must have happened to change his mind.

Oh, what's the point.
 
Clearly the almost 2 months between the Thunder playing their last game and the start of camp wasn't enough time for KD to recover. That's completely understandable.
