What's new

Dwayne Wade

Not specifically Mitchell, no.

He was brought in cuz him and Ryan Smith are good friends. I'm sure Wade has billionaire aspirations so he wants to get into those circles. If you can attach Wade's face to your franchise it's going to make you .ore appealing.
OK, I agree with all that, and maybe it wasn't a reason, but I'm guessing Ryan thought of the side benefit of having one of Donovan's mentors in the org could help retain him.

Sure, I'm sure that was talked about with Wade that he can talk to Jazz players, but it's primarily Ryan wanting to be in basketball circles and Wade wanting to be in billionaire/owner circles and how they can mutually benefit off each other's connections.

This is interesting. Even as an owner or part owner, you’re not allowed to lobby for players or act as an official team representative if you’re on TV. If he’s not an official member of the media, he can participate in recruiting free agents and observing draft prospects. Whatever their plans are for him, I fully expect him to be seen and heard more moving forward.

Utah does have a lot of old mining towns that arent doing much anymore so that makes sense.
