Fes, given the minutes, he always performs. He does a great job. He knows the game. He might make a few boneheaded plays a game, but who doesn't? Coach has got to realize that and let him roll with it. … Just him being out there is a plus. You see Fes in the lane, that's a big guy; that's an obstacle you have to get around. He alters shots, he changes shots, he blocks shots. But on offense he does a lot, too. He screens — when he screens and rolls, it's hard to stop him.

Any friend of D-Will's on the court is a friend of mine.

Hmm, and who does D-Will suggest should sit while Fes is playing? I hope the reporter/interviewer asked him.

I watched Fess a lot last night. I thought he played pretty good. What I notice is that he can pretty much man up a guy. Yea he gets burned a few times but he can physically match up with most any one in the league because of his size.

What he needs to improve on his obvious. He needs to improve his FT shooting, his rebounding position is pretty poor. There are a lot of times where he is simply out of position. He also needs to rip down some rebounds.

On offense Fess does set screens but he needs to hold them a little longer. Sometimes he curls out of them too fast which limits their effectiveness. He needs to get back into shape which I think would happen if he played consistent minutes.

I don't know if the comments were from DW but I agree Fess needs to get Elson's minutes. Elson hasn't exactly been tearing it up and he is not the future of the Jazz. I think Fess can eventually turn into a good role player if Sloan lets him play through some of his knucklehead moves. I don't really see why he wouldn't because every guy on the Jazz seems to make some bad moves. I would tell Fess that I want him to go out and play hard and not worry about fouls or mistakes. I am going to give you a role on this team. If Sloan would do that I think he would see a return in our investment.

As Frank Layden said, "you can not teach height (size)."

The catch 22 is that he is an unrestriced free agent thanks to our decision to only offer the one year contract. The more he plays the more Portland will pay him in the offseason. If he does not play why would he want to stick around any longer? Elson has not been getting it done lately. No way he should play over Fes. If Fes does not come back we will probably go harder after Tomic.

Can't wait for it. That is, for someone like an aging Adonal Foyle to steal valuable playing time from Tomic due to the former's experience and the latter's jackpotting tendencies. Ah, Sloan.

How do the Fes haters/doubters feel about this show of support?

Look, here's the bottom line: Fes is who we HAVE; think of another project 7 footer and what it would cost to bring him here; I'm willing to bet that Fes is better than him (even once you factor in his questionable work ethic).

The Fes needs some bloody playing time. Nothing short of 15 minutes. Period.

I'm surprised no one is talking about the part of the quote where Deron says, "Coach has got to realize that..." But yeah, it's time to give Fes regular minutes. I'd start him next to Al, bring Sap off the bench, and generally Al and Sap would close halves and games
