Dwill starting ... as is Hayward (AK out)

Just google "tribjazz".. its the first link to pop up.

Me, I'm still a Hayward optimist. In fact i'm drinking the Hayward punch... going forward. Tonight against Melo?? 2 fouls in 2 minutes.

I like Gordon being put in these situations. I think he is active enough on offense that Melo will have to actually guard him too. Melo can't do both, and rarely does he defend anyway. Good test for the rookie, good developmental opportunity.

Things with great potential for reward have an equal amount of potential for loss. Hayward is still sensitive and if he gets destroyed out there, that could enact a downward spiral effect.

Could. We'll see. Hopefully you're right.

This is what worries me. Teams go right at Hayward and the refs never seem to give him the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully he can withstand the first 5 possessions in a row when they go to Carmelo. Maybe contest a couple and make melo go 3-5 and avoid getting a foul.

If Hayward can last the entire 6 mins/quarter or whatever the sub pattern is then I think it will be huge for his confidence for the rest of the game. Assuming Sloan doesn't sit him on the bench the entire 2nd half.

That's true. It seems to me though that he just plays the game, doesn't seem to get mental about it (ala Miles) the few times he has had the minutes. Even if he gets destroyed I think the time on the floor will do him good in the long run. For some reason I get the feeling that he is mentally stronger than other rookies we have had (Koufos springs to mind).

Goodie. I can't wait to see Hayward go 3-3 from the field in the first 5 minutes only to have the magnificent Ronnie Price come in and jack up 7 bricks for the rest of the half.
