Earl close to re-signing with jazz

Earl Watson:
"Excited to be back in SLC! Amazing city, great organization and the best FANS in the NBA! Not to forget talented teammates! I'm blessed!"

I'm glad he's back.

I like the Tinsley pickup since we keep Watson, also. I would bet that Tinsley is a significant upgrade from Price.

why go get Tinsley in a lockout shortened season. Price knows the system and is a cheap 3rd pg.

I have never seen Price run the system that he supposedly knows. I liked him as a 3rd backup, but Tinsley actually has PG skills.

Good signing. The remaining unrestricted free agent point guards other than Barea was not very appetizing.

Exact same over here. All this time I figured that the Tinsley signing meant that Watson was a goner. Now that we have both, the Jamaal Tinsley experiment shall be an interesting one.

Last year Watson made $850K
Last year Price made $1.4M

I know it's only half a million difference, which is not much when looking at the big picture, but we got way more out of Watson than Price. I hope Tinsley is the 3rd PG, and I hope he comes at the minimum... if they keep him at all. I honestly don't know if I would rather have Price or Tinsley, neither can shoot... but maybe, just maybe, Tinsley can run an offense. Edge Tinsley.

Well, technically, Watson made 1.2+ million last year. Jazz were just on hook for veteran's minimum, and the league picked up the tab for having x amount of years of experience in the league.

Passes look pretty good in that video

Coud have fooled me. Price doesn't run the system so if he knows it then he is worse than I thought.

Give Price credit for being a hustle player. If he could do anything else I would love having him on the team. He does not do anything else. So I hate him on the team.

I am happy they were able to keep Watson. He is the best backup PG we have had for a very long time.

Do you remember our bet that dealt w/ Mr. Price?

Thanks for the link. His comments at the end about the Chris Paul trade were priceless. :-)

For those who didn't watch:

Reporter: What were your thoughts on what happened last night with the Chris Paul trade being pulled back?

Watson: Umm...I really don't have any thoughts. I'm not really a Laker fan, so I don't care.
