What's new

Earl Watson is better at playing basketball than Devin Harris

Earl might actually be better. Was not impressed with Harris in the least tonight, but, I think over the course of a season he'll come out on top.

I don't think it's a silly question though, Watson has a lot to offer.

I was never one to be on the Jimmer hype train, but if he pans out at all, he would have really fit the needs of this team. Or Kemba, or Knight. We should have drafted a PG.

So we should have taken Jimmer #3? He, as well as Kemba and Knight, were all gone by #12. I can't say I agree with this at all.

Not necessarily, but I'm sure we could have traded down 3 or 4 spots, picked up some assets, and had our pick of any of the three. What I am sure of is that we have no business having another big prospect on our team. Kanter may turn out to be great, but it will be in three years of ugly, unwatchable basketball with Harris at the point.

I really want Harris to succeed but I get the feeling watching & listening to him that he really doesn’t care. Like it’s a job, and he likes the paycheck so he’ll show up like he’s supposed to. But really he’d rather be doing something else, so not a bid thing if things aren’t going well. Anyone else ever get that vibe?

He does seem like he isn't putting forth a superstar effort.

What are you talking about? Be specific.
Harris was the 1st one back in the Jazz practice facilities when the lockout ended.
If anyone is giving off the 'throw away season' vibe, it's KOC.

I really WANT to be impressed with Harris, but so far, I haven't really felt that way. I agree with others that Watson seems to run the plays better. Hopefully Devin will get his head on straight and start doing a better job of that. I hope having Howard here will help.

Deron always struggled on defense with short-quick point guards. Looks like Harris is going to have the same problem. I am concerned that he looked very slow. His claim to fame was his quickness and speed. Heaven help us if he has lost those attributes. We had 22 turnovers against Portland, Harris had a lot of those turnovers and our PG's didn't get us into the offense quick enough.

Hey Harris its real simple. Fake one way, crossover your dribble , drive past your defender, and then as you approach the hoop determine if you have a lay up. If not, kick to a shooter when the defense collapses.

Hey Harris its real simple. Run the pick and roll once in a while. You should have learned this along time ago.
