We somehow turned from a team with an All Star PG with thin front court..

.. to a glut of bigs with pretty thin PG talent ... in just 1 year.

Unless KOC knows something we don't - not getting back Earl would be a major disappointment of this off-season.

And that's a much better place to start from. But I wouldn't say there's no talent at PG. Harris is pretty good. It's not like we went from Deron to Palacio or Knight. Lakers have done pretty well without top talent at PG. Even in his prime, Fisher was never an all-star.

We've been so starved for a decent backup PG that we're overvaluing Watson. I'm sure KOC is turning over every rock to try to find a younger guy to replace him, preferably someone who can hit a few shots and make a few free throws.

So while theoretically Chauncey can't decide, it sounds like he's going to do his best (or worst) to go to ensure that he goes to a team he prefers.

I don't see why you should get any of your money but I haven't read the contracts. This is another issue that should have been dealt with and/or existing rules enforced.

But as far as Chauncey's bitching goes, this is a rare occasion where I side with the player. He's got to be pretty ****ing sick of being yanked around as a punishment for being a complete professional his entire career.

Nobody is forcing these guys to sign multi-year deals for big money. They do it for obvious reasons in case they get injured, but they also know that the possibilty of getting traded comes with the territory. If they want to control where they play, they should just sign one year deals. If they want guaranteed money, then they should stfu and honor the contract with the conditions they agreed to.
