Who will be our All-Stars? Pick 3.

I don't think you can really judge whether Gobert will make it based on stats. Let's not forget, apart from the starters, all stars are picked by coaches, and after most games that Gobert plays, the opposing coach is going to walk away thinking "Damn, that guy is an all star".

Or so my heart tells me.

This is the only way any Utah player will ever get into the all-star game. We could have had Michael Jordan or LBJ on our team and they would have had to be selected by the coaches.

That said, I think Gobert has the best shot of being so selected. He definitely has received high praise from coaches around the league after they see how he completely stifles offense at the rim, like something tall like a tower or something. Come to think of it, that might make a good nickname!

Tall Rimmer

@green all of the above and let me add that the names I have picked are not the ones I think will be an All-star necessarily, but closest Jazz players considered to the honor.

I am going with the easy picks: Hayward, Favors and Gobert. I think Hood may be a dark-horse candidate if he can maintain the same level of play he ended the season with.

I went with those three as well. As you say, those are easy picks.

I'll be surprised if they get one, even with a good start to the season.

I wouldn't be surprised the Jazz donate a star if they are 6th seed or higher. Not that there are necessities but it would put Jazz under contender consideration by the help of a solid system especially on defense, an aspect that most coaches respect and value.

Some of you guys are kinda weird. Utah will likely get nobody voted in by the fans, unless we really explode, which isn't impossible even with as tough as the west is. As for getting someone voted in by coaches, it's easily Gobert with the best chance, followed by Mr. Hayward. The coaches don't have to just go by numbers, and Rudy's impact on the game is elite. He affects the game as much as any player in the league. If he stays healthy and plays like he did last year, he has a great chance of being voted in by the coaches. God help the rest of the league if he improves in any way.

Some? I thought you have been lurking for a while.
