Ed Davis Trade Ideas

Trading unused Ed Davis for either savings or a more useful role player seems like a wise decision. He is set to make $5 million next year. Here are a couple ideas....

#1 - Trade him to a team with space. I don't think this will happen because not many teams with space want to spend it on him. However, the best candidates would be Charlotte, New York, Detroit, New Orleans, Sacramento, Phoenix and maybe a couple others. Detroit is most likely.

#2 - Davis ($5) to Portland for Hezonja ($1.9) - This deal saves us around $3 million. Lillard loves Ed Davis and maybe this is a way to give Portland frontcourt depth and Lillard's buddy back. If Portland waives overpaid Ariza to save $10 million, they might want to replace him. Hezonja isn't a big get for us; it's more about the savings.

#3 - Davis ($5) to Chicago for Luke Kornet ($2.3) - Saves us around $2.7. Not a great player, but is a center who can shoot the 3 a little bit.

#4 - Davis ($5) to NY for Ntilikina ($6.2). - We actually $1.2 here. NY will be in a complete roster overhaul this summer. To do this deal, we'd probably have to throw a 2nd rounder to them or maybe even swap #23 with #27. I think it's worth it. Ntilikina needs a change of scenery, and he's already close with Rudy and Don. Great perimeter defender.

I'm fine with literally any Ed Davis and/or Tony Bradley deals, as long as that means that we get to resign Favors
I was actually going to throw that idea out there. I'm not necessarily all that big on it, but TB has good enough numbers and is still young... I think he has a little trade value. Ed is a negative value but not so much that its a killer. I could see NO playing ball and doing a sign and trade with Favs for TB and Ed plus some second round picks.

Tony Bradley just isn't that guy and the same goes for Niang

I’d like the trade for Ntilikina. Always had a soft spot for him and we’re probably not re-signing Mudiay so we need another guard. Find a way to bring back Favors and I’m happy.

I agree. I'm still very, very high on Frank. We could really use him right now on the perimeter on defense.
