He hasn't had the same opportunities as Memphis because he traded it all of it away for Conley. Stupid turd DL, keep selling us crap and Gayle keeps buying it.
Correction. DL didn't trade these picks JUST for Conley, instead he traded pick after pick for 1-2 seasons of PG rentals that didn't really help solve this team's long term problem and would just walk for nothing by the end of the rental.

Yeah that's why I said the Suns had one of the worst FO in the league and all of them got fired about a season ago. But my point being as bad as the Suns FO had been, even they've have had home-run hits like Devin Booker. So DL drafting DM in the late lotto was great, but not something that's worth a pass. Or else the Suns FO should've kept their job.
2 all stars in 7 years were we were drafting is great especially considering we traded a handful of picks.

Every team has missed... Dallas drafted Luka but they also had whiffed on Dennis Smith.

You are acting like DL has drafted as bad as Charlotte or the Kings when in fact he’s drafted quite well. It’s the main reason we haven’t picked in the top 5 multiple times.

And I’m not a DL homer... he has some warts but his draft record is as solid as anyone’s.

So DL takes over in 2013 and lands Rudy #27... the next year he gets Hood at #23.... His biggest misses are Exum and Lyles (but he flips Lyles into DM) In 2017 he land DM...

He drafted two all stars outside the top ten... had some misses.

OKC since 2013 got Adams and whiffed on every other pick.

Boston got Smart #6, Brown at #3, Tatum at #3, KO in 2013 (passed on Giannis too), Terry Rozier at #16... and then have whiffed on a **** ton of picks like 6-7 firsts and high second rounders. Robert Williams is a wait and see. Ainge has been great in the top 6 and total **** outside of it.

Since 2013 Warriors best pick is Paschall in the second round... Looney end of first... whiffed on everything else.

Nuggets have been consistently good... problem is they traded Rudy and DM to us. They also whiffed on Mudiay #6. They have been better than us but those are pretty bad black eyes.

Memphis drafted Ja #2, Jackson #4... those aren't no brainers but still a lot easier finding talent in the top 5. They drafted Clarke as well, but outside of that they have whiffed hard.

Lakers landed the guys you mentioned... great! they also took Ball over Tatum/Fox, DLo over the Zinger... they had some other solid wins.

I will give you the Lakers and Nuggets... but I think when you look at the draft you have to look at wins and not losses. We have had some ****ing home run wins.

So, DL's two best moves are trading away the pick for Gobert, Sloan throwing a fit and Sloan gets management to buy a pick to get Gobert. His second best move is answering the phone when Denver calls because Denver wants Lyles.

We should back a guy who had one lottery ticket forced on him when he didn't want it and another given to him for his birthday.

We don't know what happened behind closed doors. The same people who won't credit DL with Rudy Gobert will penalize him for the Burke pick when the rumor was that was a Ty Corbin influenced decision.

The Denver deal coming together how it did is weird... but we had a guy... we threw out some options and they took the bait. One of the issues I've had with DL is he isn't aggressive enough, but when his fishing methods work you give him his credit. They had a guy they really wanted and found a way to get him. Like I said part of being "good" at drafting is luck. Warriors were damn lucky to get Green, Nuggets were damn lucky to get Jokic and honestly I am not sure how Murray fell in the draft either. Thought for sure he'd go 3rd or 4th.

Exum sucked but was really unlucky with injuries... still not convinced he would be great even if healthy but we will never know. Exum was a consensus top 4 pick and we took him at 5.

Lyles was a ****** pick but he could have been the classic "he didn't show everything at Kentucky" guy. He was also lazy and entitled. It happens.

Grayson and TB were late first round guys... typically not a high hit rate there. I hated the TB pick and was mildly displeased with the Grayson pick but I understood what they were going for.

Burke at 9 is a miss but he's still an nba player... he was projected to go as high as #5... it sucks that draft had good players taken 4-5 picks after Burke but half the league missed on Giannis and CJ had some injury issues.

We haven't done well in the second round (maybe Brantley, Oni, give us something).

DL is due for a hit but his average thus far is good.

You know about half of all success in the draft is luck. Yeah there is some analysis done, every team has very high-level analytics, so ability knowledge and talent all play into it, but there is still so much luck involved it's hard to really say definitively whether any given GM sucks at drafting.

Its only when a team consistently ****s up at the top of the draft that I think you can definitively say the suck at drafting. Kings, Suns, Knicks, Charlotte. If you ignored the top 5 picks that Danny Ainge and just look at how many picks he has whiffed on you'd think he was one of the worst drafters ever.

Also I don't imagine that GM's make draft decisions on their own. It's whole coaching staff that examines the guys and gives their opinions. Of course GM is a face of the draft decisions but it's responsability of a bunch of people inside the franchise. You may fire the GM and they will still be there.

Do you all think Kevin Love for Conley can work ?
Technically yes. It screws up our cap situation too much and Kevin isn’t what we need really. Not sure who he can guard on a championship level team anymore. Great spot up shooter and rebounder... would give us a passing big but his best use is as a spread the court center and your defense would get lit the **** up with him there.

They haven’t been willing to just dump him... yet. I would want some serious assets to take him. Bojan provides the stretch 4 we need and is a more diverse scorer imo. Love would bring some passing and offensive rebounding but at max money for multiple years???? No thanks.

For us I think Horford is a more useful player than Love. Philly would send some solid stuff to offload Horford if we are intent on taking on a ****** deal.
