Oh ****. That's some damn fine rebounding.
My bad, thanks for the correction.

No, you were right and were looking at Davis’ career stats which is fair. He was 17 last year and higher than 12 in the previous couple years as well. On a team that rebounded terribly. I’m guessing Davis, with Gobert on the bench during most of not all of that time, will rebound somewhere around 12.5-13.5 per 36.

I honestly thought the same thing.
Then I looked up their stats per 36 and found that epke is the better scorer, rebounder, and passer. With better efficiency.
I was quite surprised

I don't feel per 36 is relevant here as there is a reason why someone like Ed Davis generally has gotten far more playing time than Udoh. Davis averages 6 more minutes per game for a reason career wise. For example the last three seasons Udoh has only averaged 7.7 mpg and just for fun 1.9 pts per game and 2.3 rebounds. Now Davis is averaging 18(even)mpg, 5.4 points, and 7.1 rebounds. Their impacts over the last 3 years aren't even close. Epke basically played very sparingly and some nights got DNP'd, Davis on the other hand is a solid role player that deserves minutes night in and night out.

Edit: and this sucks as I feel like I'm trashing Epke but I really enjoyed the guys time here. I just don't think he really moved the needle for this team at all. He had his moments though. Davis on the other hand I think will have moments more often and offer more valuable minutes. That's not saying Davis is some key monumental piece, I'm just saying his impact will be much bigger on the court.

What do you mean? He had a little jump hook that was more effective and accurate than Rudy's. Now I know when people say some things on here, they are not speaking from observation. I saw Epke use that quite often (it was his only shot other than a dunk) -- and yes it was from close up, about 5-feet, but he almost always made it.

For me it comes to the question: what do we need now more when Rudy sits down - better rebounding or better rim protection? I would say the second that's why I voted Udoh.

Stop, just ****ing stop. Udoh scored 13.4 per 36 last year and that blew away any previous season. Dude was a nobody on offense.

They both suck on offense. One is a better defender and one is a better rebounder.

Really doesn't make much difference imo
