Actually I've just looked it up, the wage gap is worse today than in 1979.

Black Americans today earn even less relative to their white counterparts than they did in 1979, according to a new report by the Economic Policy Institute (EPI).

The report, released by the left-leaning thinktank on Tuesday, shows that the gap between wages of both black and white men and black and white women has widened over the last 36 years.

Black men’s average hourly wages went from being 22.2% lower than those of white men in 1979 to being 31% lower by 2015. For women, the wage gap went from 6% in 1979 to 19% in 2015.

“The finding that stands out the most, our major result, is that the racial wage gaps were larger in 2015 than they were in 1979. That’s huge because the impression people have, in general, is we know there’s still racism in this country, but we think or at least believe that it’s getting better,” said Valerie Wilson, director of the EPI’s program on race, ethnicity and the economy and one of the report’s authors.

No idea, I'm not the President, but in 8 years do you think the prospects of black people have become better or worse or stays the same?
Better. Many issues have come to light and have started a conversation. More people are sticking up for their rights and protesting in a good way. Obama inspired many black people that they could succeed and that they could be proud of who they are. Kids were born knowing they could become president because of him regardless of race. Many programs were started that have helped inner city black kids and other great things have happened.

A lot of Obama's presidency was spent tirelessly fighting against opposition to what he was trying to do. I wish he had a chance to have a majority Senate but he didn't. I was disappointed that he settled on Obamacare and let it pass in its state. I was disappointed that taxes and health care increased for me during his presidency. There is a lot of other stuff I liked about him and disliked. Overall I think he was a good person who tried to make the world a better place.

The poll is showing a very even spread of grades so far. No 'A' for 'Outstanding' yet though.
I'd love to someday give a US President an A. That would be very hard to achieve. I'm 56, and I wouldn't give any president in my lifetime an A.
