He has a history of knee problems....no thank you.
Also we already have our project big man.
Where did you get this info? Jefferson, Favors, and Kanter could be quite impressive. Use Millsap to get a wing. Not saying we should draft him, but obviously KOC is intrigued.
I watched the Enes highlights. He looked alright on the offensive end and grabbed some rebounds, but he also appeared to be the biggest guy on the floor (not extremely smooth or athletic). I would like to see his defensive footwork. If he defends like Okur, no thanks. He may just be an early bloomer with a good touch around the basket. The NBA game might eat him alive.
I do agree you take BPA even if he's redundant. The Jazz, however, always draft for positional need, and they take the most offensively accomplished guy at that position.
The only way we're going to build a legit playoff team is drafting or developing an all-world player, currently there are 5-- Lebron, Kobe, Howard, Durant and Blake Griffin (I think Wade although he is still a top 5 overall player, is no longer all-world). Or building a solid team top to bottom offensively and defensively, and that means a solid center. Kanter is that solid center, not a guy you build a team around, but a guy who could be the starting C on a legit playoff contender... especially if he were sharing a front court with Derrek Favors.
Harrison Barnes upside is "the best player on a bad team" similar to Michael Redd, he has no chance at all-world status, and his consistency on both ends of the court is nothing to be excited about... that being said, I like Barnes more than anyone other than Kanter, but I think he'll spend another year at UNC (he is essentially Marvin Williams right now).
