edit: reminds me of a personal experience. A black man that I work with, and actually really liked, always yelled about crackers. Cracker this and cracker that. So to make a point one day I told a joke to him and a few other guys that we worked with. It had the offensive term for black people in it. Well he got mad and called me a rascist. I asked him how my joke is any worse then him saying craker 100 times a day. He had no answer and stormed off. Well all the other guys that were there (all black) told me I was right. That's... Not at all what people are upset about... They're upset about the system being screwed over to greatly favor a select few, superpacs/corporations buying legislation, and a completely unsustainable system that is deregulated and not bringing in revenue from ridiculously low tax rates. People are sick of hearing about how the rich need to have taxes low in order to create jobs, to only see them either not create jobs... Or create them in China.

The problem with Al Jazeera is that it's a British entity.

If I were to open a Duck Rodgers Academy and were teaching how to properly sift through government propaganda on controversial issues, I wouldn't say go read what the left side of the country says, and then go read what the right of the country says, and then come to your own conclusions. No, because their arguments are always rooted in government propaganda. The big secret is that enemies are often the best source of information for what's really happening when they aren't directly involved in the matter. If you want a fuller picture on US foreign/economic policy that doesn't involve China, read something from one of the "enemy" organs like Xinhua (China). Watch Press TV(Iran), watch Russian TV for US issues that don't directly involve those countries. If you want the scoop on what's going on in China outside of their direct beefs with Japan, read The Asahi Shimbun in Japan. As long as you can naturally skip over the self-serving bravado on whatever the current big issue of the day they're pumping is in those particular countries, it works great. And of course the mainstream US press will give you pretty decent views for issues we aren't directly involved in too at times and the Independent press does a good job on almost everything. It seems *** backwards, but we wouldn't have any need for an Independent press if these governments were as honest about themselves as they are about their enemies when it's an issue that doesn't directly involve them.

Haven't even heard of The Muppets since I was little kid, didn't even know they are still around. And Eric Bolling and his buddies on Fox probably haven't seen it either. But we both have probably seen media that is overly propagandistic presented in the context of T.V. shows or movies directed at children. Don't you think that deserves some circumspection, no matter the superficiality of it? Because, yes, really your brain does a lot of passive thinking and turns down a few notches when the boob tube is on, so you have to be careful with what you're consuming. Muppets or no Muppets. I mean, that's what this whole topic is about. It's a legitimate issue, whether you think so or not. And obviously, you think Fox News is propaganda, which it certainly is to those that just seep everything in at face value, but the same topic that undergoes soft examination focused on children's programming on one of their shows has left you and Media Matters engaged in bollocks? Sometimes business news programs like to have fun. Was there some crazy boycott the Muppets gathering that I missed? Because I would have liked to be there. Sesame Street is much better.

I think this whole process of waiting for people to slip up so that you can crucify them is anathema to freedom of the press and the free market. All these "Independent" Media watcher groups aren't helpful because they are not interested in just correcting inaccuracies and leaving it at that, they all have agendas and they all have big money controlling those agendas. Whatever happened to get the **** out of my way supply and demand concept of media consumption? If Eric Bolling is so offensive, degrading, and simple-minded, then I'm sure people would stop watching him on their own if we let them and maybe those people on Madison Avenue would pull advertising because their boss says so, and not because some overzealous wankers using hysteric boycotts as weaponry to chill free speech say so.
