This guy has stood out to me since game 1 of the Utah Summer League. I honestly know next to nothing about him, but he just managed to stand out on the court with his hustle plays, ridiculous athleticism, and communication on the court.

Who's that dude on here that follows the D League religiously? homeytennis or something? Maybe he's followed Griffin for a while or something. 2 years ago, Griffin averaged 19pts/6.6reb/1.9ast/1.3stl/2.4blk with the Texas Legends on 45.5/36.8/77.1 splits, and he took 5.4 3s per game.

They said on the broadcast today that he was accused of first degree murder, but he had an alibi and luckily he was never prosecuted. They also mentioned he was the last cut by the Miami Heat in the 2013-2014 season.

He's signed to a team in Italy Serie A, but he has an NBA out in his contract. Not sure if the contract is so lucrative that he wouldn't accept a 2 way contract or something though. I think we only have 12 people guaranteed on the roster, and I think he'd be a great 13-15th man.

Here's a longform article about his murder case. He spent 6 days in jail, AND HIS MOM's VIVINT SECURITY SYSTEM CLEARED HIM OF ANY WRONGDOING. It was meant to be!

Just a few weeks earlier, Bracy [Griffin's mother] had gotten a new home security system installed, replacing her old ADT set-up with a high-tech Vivint system that included motion-detection cameras. At 12:52 a.m., movement triggered the camera in the front room, which captured an image of Griffin walking through a hallway wearing a white tank top and his boxers.

By 1:19 a.m., Griffin said he was watching TV in bed, roughly five miles from the Bala Sands apartment complex, and according to records provided by Vivint, no one entered or exited the house until just before 6 the following morning, when Jessie left for work.

"We also learned that Griffin had an alibi," the statement continued. "His alarm system was on the night of the shooting until the following morning. A motion detector picked him up as movement in a hallway. We first had to review and verify the timestamps on the video."

His shooting numbers are decent for the volume in the D-League. He's probably about as reasonable an option as any.
 
And holy ****, I had read the home security system story, but I missed the part about it being a Vivnit system. Eric Griffin going to play in the arena named after the company that saved his life.
 
After reading that story I kind of want the Jazz to give him a chance. He'd have to earn it, obviously, but sounds like he deserves a break.

He was a DLeague all star playing for Dallas-Fort Worth a couple of years ago. He played in Israel last season and averaged about 15 ppg. I kind of thought he was always a tweener but he is 2nd in Vegas in blocked shots and had 3 steals his first game. It sounds like the cops and prosecutors said the "black guy did it" and lucky for him he had the alibi. Otherwise they might have character assinated him into prison.

Lol yeah, the person said "a tall black person" but it ended up the person who did it was only 6' tall.
 
I think he would be a decent candidate for the two way contract. If anything we will get to see some cool dunks from him in garbage time now and then.
