I'm sure this has already been posted, but it deserves a thread.

Most solid reporting on the situation so far. Nice job, ESPN. Wow, I'm surprised and impressed actually.

It is important for the sake of my team, and for the equity of the league that Haywood, The Celtics, Danny Ainge, and even ESPN fail spectacularly. I will cheer for this outcome, and I am right to do so.

ESPN already is on the precipice of failure.

It bothers me when they talk about "failures" of the Jazz organization during Hayward's time. Like not trading Jefferson or Millsap. This was 5 years ago.

The whole idea of the Jazz having 7 years to convince Hayward to stay is ludicrous. Hayward was a 14-3-3 player as recently as 4 years ago. Those are Khris Middleton numbers from this year. Is anyone turning over the keys of their team to Khris Middleton right now? Hayward took some time to develop. 7 years, to be exact. It's preposterous to say the Jazz wasted 3 years of his career with Corbin as if that was about Hayward. After Hayward signed the offer sheet from the Hornets(or whatever that joke of a franchise was called at the time), the Jazz did put together a very good team around him. The Jazz drafted well, they signed and traded for quality players. They turfed Corbin and got someone who vaguely knows what they're doing.

Being butthurt over stuff that happened 7 or 4 years ago is the kind of stuff you do when you're 20. Like the time a hot girl from HS came to one of my frat's parties and wanted to make out with me, but I was all "Oh, you didn't want me in grade 10, you don't get me now."

I agree with OP solid video especially since it's from ESPN. They talked about it as objectively as possible and as knowledgeable as possible from a national group on the subject that I've seen so far.

I still don't think there's anything more the Jazz could've done to appease him in this decision. Then looking back Millsap/Jefferson? Blah no real news there as there probably wasn't any real deals on the table. Letting him go in to RFA originally? Yeah of course if we could go back in time we'd change it, but at the time that wasn't a smart decision for us and I really don't think he took that to heart when making this decision.

It came down to Stevens and going away from the strong West. THE END.

Couldn't disagree more. This segment is trying to lay the blame at Utah's feet, which is complete nonsense. This decision was 100% Gordon Hayward's to make. Utah offered him 5 years/177 million. They went out and got Rubio and resigned Ingles. They surrounded him with a great coaching staff, trainers, and talented teammates. Not only that, but the fans basically prostrated themselves for him - chanting his name, making videos, writing letters, putting up billboards...

The Jazz organization and their fans did everything they could. Gordon Hayward chose to leave anyways. Don't blame the Jazz for him going to the Celtics.

Babypeterz stole this video from me (I posted it last night) the way I steal cigs from him every time we meet.
