ESPN western conference predictions

Only the Rockets did, with the return of Yao. I think that the thought is that the top 7 teams got closer together. After a long discussion with Zack Harper (TalkHoops/ ESPN True Hoops) I think they put the Jazz where they are because they are the only ones that made such drastic changes to their roster.

I think the Warriors, Rockets, Grizzlies, Hornets, and Clippers all improved.

Just don't make any comments about this ranking on Twitter or you will feel the backlash of the 93 contributors to this ranking and be called "another irrational Jazz fan".

I thought that was so funny. You guys weren't even saying Jazz should be #1 or #2 just not #7. You weren't calling him names and then he says that. I thought you guys did a good job of showing when the experts of ESPN had been wrong in the past. I love how allthatamar was told he was skewing with the evidence

I don't see how the Warriors, Hornets, or Grizzlies improved. Clippers, maybe if Griffin is good.

If Chris Paul is healthy, the Hornets will definitely improve. Grizzlies will improve some just by having a very young team that is slowly learning how to win. Who knows if the Warriors will be any better, but can they be any worse? I'm fairly skeptical about the Clips. Blake could be good, but that team is poorly constructed if you ask me.

The Hornets will if they have Paul healthy for a whole season. The Grizz may improve organically through the development of players such as Gasol, Mayo, Gay, and Thabeet. The Warriors, yeah, they still suck.

Paul wants to play with Melo for the Knicks... he's not going to do jack squat this year. Expect Chrissy to have a boo-boo mid season that keeps him out "unless he's needed for a playoff run"

"The heavyweight champs have given us a True Hollywood Story of classic characters: *blah blah blah*. Oh yeah, they're pretty good at basketball, too." .... oh yeah, they're pretty good at giving the "experts" raging clues, too.

That just gave me a 'raging clue'.

Anyone that thinks okc is overrated is so very foolish. They have the best player in the nba........ I see okc being a game better then the jazz this year and a 2nd seed overall.

"experts" just do not understand how bad Boozer really is. To look at that as a step backwards is laughable. They mentioned the pick up of Jefferson, but not the Raja Signing or the fact that we drafted Hayward. Its all up to chemistry. This team is as talented, if not slightly more than last years. If the players are all on the same page, the Jazz could be very dangerous.

...exactly! The Jazz, unbeknown's to the so-called "experts"...increased there team basketball IQ by a factor of 10 by adding Bell and Hayward...and subtracting Boozer! Plus, Jefferson gives us a genuine inside presence that could easily resulted in total offensive domination! If he picks up the pick and roll while staying in the low block and not becoming enamored with some funky turnaround jump shot...we could be in business!
