I rewatched the game and they lost in last minute. In fact they gave a huge gift to Macedonia and McCalleb had nothing to do with it. Three most experienced players of LT team made three crucial mistakes after they were leading 65-61 with 1 min to go. Kaukenas rushed the shot with bunch of time on the clock, then after Macedonia cut down to 2 LT had 35 seconds and possesion of the ball and Jasikevicius tripped and fell into out of bounds - Macedonia not able to score, Songaila grabs rebound with 21 second left and for some stupidest reason which is imopossible to understand for such an experience player he decided to get rid of the ball instead of waiting for Macedonia to foul him... why on earth you would like to pass right away after you secured rebound with 21 second left when you are 80% FT shooter and your team up by 2??? Hell knows what he was thinking there but he decided to pass across the court to Kaukenas who was not expecting it and the pass was bad anyway and it went out of bounds to Macedonia... another gift. Then Macedonia inbounds to corner of the court and again another experienced player Kaukenas runs and double teams somebody absolutely unnecessary in the corner instead of stying with his man... pass goes from double team to Iliewski, open three, boom, biggest upset in Eurobasket this year. The fact that Jasaitis missed open 18ft jumper at the end was irrelevant, LT was up by 4 with 1 min left, had ball in their hands and choked. And it was experienced, most trusted players who had brain farts and could not close the game...unbelievable loss I must say.
macedonia did well done in this tournament. They are like montepaschi siena in europe (mccaleb's team) , they have mccaleb and very good role players, they make good defense and it wasnt a surprise for me they beat lithuania. Just i guess i overrated russia a little bit, they arent better than France. Anyway probably Spain is gonna beat france too and Turkey will be the only team who beat spain throughout the tournament , how nice it is )

Yeah, too bad he somehow wasn't able to develop that move in the ~5 minutes per available game that he received, at ages 19 to 21, under Coach "I pull my strategy out of my (tractor) seat" Sloan.

Im pretty sure 90% of your posts in this forum have been Anti-Sloan in one shape or another. Gets old quickly
Let all agree to just leave Sloan retired.

I concur. Sloan kept Kosta in his doghouse for some unknown reasons. I would get it about Snyder or some other stupid kid but Koufos was smart hard working gym rat who was never given a chance by Sloan.
