Eurobasket 2025

Changes before next Eurobasket ( 2029 ) are a must.
And that requires coaching, roster, game plan etc changes.
But the biggest question is that does Finnish basketball federation have enough money, resources etc to do all those things.
Well, at least Finland has a very doable path to qualifying for the 2027 World Cup. The future looks pretty promising, especially considering that almost all their neighbors (Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland) are going through slumps.

LOL, no, team Finland doesn't have to start changing tons of things. Aside the group stage game against Germany, they at least had some punchers chance in some point of every game. Our success against bigger teams will be a lot about making their threes, but the quality just isn't there like it was with Prime Sasu Salin, Shawn Huff (now retired) and Petteri Koponen (retired and coaching in Japan).

Team Finland also needs a rim guard, maybe Federico Federico will become such. He's college senior now so we'll see how much he'll develop, but in D he at least could offer some rim protection in future.

The final between Germany and Turkey was very lit..It has to be said though, if Schröder played better the whole game, it could have been easier. Props to Turkey offering them such a good contest.

Jiipee is a well-known Lauri-hating troll from Finnish sites occasionally changing his moniker but always recognisable by his "style". He has also continued in his slightly moderated style on all the forums of Lauri's respective teams - moderated after he was moderated (at least for a while) out of Bulls' forum.

Anyway, Koponen is coaching in New Zealand for NZ Breakers and his team has had exhibition games against Jazz.

In 4 years Finland will be a beast when Mikka is in his early 20s and Lauri is still in his prime. Maybe Little will be an established Euroleague player as well

Some Lauri haters popping up here is funny. He had a great tournament and led his 10th-ranked team to the semifinals. His shot didn’t fall in some of the games, but he created a lot of open shots and lanes for his teammates in every game. Germany was impressive with their coaching and teamwork. Efficient at moving the ball and finding open shooters. No hero ball. Everything they did was about the team, not the individual players. They won the World Cup two years ago the same way.
