What's new

Evans - Hayward - Fes .. now what ?

It makes no sense why hayward shouldn't be sent to the D-League.

If worse came to worse, Millsap and Evans could fill in at the 3. Fransico, Al, and Memo could fill in at the 4. Deron and Price could play more time at the 2.

There's just no reason to keep Hayward on the Utah Jazz right now. He's worthless right now. He can't defend, can't score, and most importantly, lacking confidence. Evans can at least contribute right now. Even if it's for 5 minutes. He can provide a dunk, tip in, rebound, or a blocked shot.

Hayward cannot. and he needs some PT to get his confidence back. Hayward homers need to look @ this rationally. Right now Hayward is the worst player on this roster. Right now Hayward is easily the most expendable player on the Jazz. Right now Hayward is the rookie that needs the D-League the most.

Maybe I am mistaken but can't you send a guy down and bring him back up a couple times? I don't have an issue with the Jazz sending Hayward down for 5-10 games then switching and sending Evans down so long as you can bring them back as needed in case of injuries.

I believe it's 3 times.

Hayward is terrible thus far. He needs to go to the D League. Best case scenario, I never have to see his goofy face on an NBA team ever again. Worst case scenario, people on here continue to think he is anything but a bust. I don't care if he is young, he doesn't have the talent to play at this level. Waste of a pick.

A large portion of Hayward's struggles comes from being extremely uncomfortable with the offense. How is he going to learn the Jazz offense properly in the Dleauge? Its best to just keep him on the team so he can practice with them.

I can easily see the talent there. As opposed to a guy like Morris Almond where I couldn't see any during his rare appearances. What I don't see is confidence and knowledge of the system.

I cannot call a player a bust 2 months into his career.
I think Evans has athletic ability that you cannot teach. I love watching him do his dunks. I salivate at his potential.
Hayward...no I haven't seen much out of him yet, but that doesn't mean he is a bust and will never be good.

It all comes down to how hard the two guys work. That is what Jerry Sloan demands. Even Deron had to learn that.
Deron got it quickly. I hope Evans and Hayward do the same.
If they are both putting in the work in practice, then I am willing to be patient with them.

As long as he understands going to the D-League will help him in all these areas, I think it's perfect. Getting sent down may hurt his confidence even more. But the playing time will only help his shot, which will naturally help his confidence tremendously.

While I agree with this he really should have been left home during this road trip. He's not going to play much and there is hardly any practice time on a roadie like this one. But now that it's too late for that maybe they will send him down next road trip.

i agree with this. I saw no talent with Almond. Hayward seems to have the talent. But he came to a team already with lots of talent and that has got to be difficult. Some of the rookies drafted around him went to teams with no talent and are in positions to be main players right away. He has to earn his spot and it has got to hurt confidence to realize that you are no where near as ready as the guys you are competing with for minutes.

I don't expect anything from Hayward for the rest of this season and most if not all of next. If by year 3 he's still terrible I'll not only be surprised but ready to call him a bust.
