Exotic Animal Trophy Hunting

To throw hantlers a bone he is right a little bit. I am against some senseless killing.

If my dog were sitting out on my lawn and someone drove by and shot and killed him then I would be against that.

I'm think that the terrorist attack on 9-11 was senseless killing and I'm against that for sure.

If I'm chilling in a camground and a baby bird that is trying learn how to fly is on the ground hopping and fapping it's wings in an attempt to fly and someone just walks over and stomps on its head then I would be against that senseless killing.

If someone were to kill a deer or elk or whatever by catching and setting it on fire or torturing it for a few hours before killing it then I would be against that.

But..... If someone buys a licence and goes hunting and kills a duck/deer/pheasant/grouse/pronghorn/etc in a quick humane way and there are plenty of that animal left in the wild then I have no problem with that.

Not something that I would enjoy doing but to each their own.

What about the guns? Did they build those guns? If they are real hunters they should carve a bow out of wood from a tree they chopped down while using their own pubic hair to weave a bow string. Only then can they be true hunters.

Hey! Look who it is following me around again! Good boy, Gumby. Go get me my newspaper.

Has anybody authored a post to counterpoint the idea that only hunters are true preservationists yet? Or are y'all just plowing ahead with that special, isolated Utah-Nevada politics?

Let's be honest... Most of us see a difference between hunting an elk and hunting a giraffe.

yeah I dunno how this has been lost in the thread.

If nobody hunted in Montana, we would be overrun with animals. They'd be chock full of nasty diseases and die pretty awfully. I don't like that. Like it or not, we need hunters to manage population.

link? I don't know much on the subject but this is a pretty strong claim that could use some bolstering.

It's a hyperbole, but there would be problems.

Hunting does have functionality and I'm totally fine with those who hunt according to mandated regulations regarding that given species. I'm not arguing against that. Tons of hunting that goes down in Alberta.

People who hunt for food (that they need to survive) and people who really do hunt only because of population control or protecting their livestock I understand.

I believe that very few hunters do it simply for population control or whatever noble cause. Most people hunt because they enjoy it. I think it's strange to get enjoyment out of killing things. But again, to each their own. I ain't trying to stop anybody.
None of the serious trophy hunters I know fit the description of someone who kills for joy (though I have met some idiots who are like that). The most prominent among them is, in my opinion, the greatest lover of animals I have ever met. He invests huge amounts of money in wildlife. He holds animals in great awe and respect. He's absolutely fascinated by the natural world. What I've said might sound over the top, but believe me, it's an understatement.

We're not talkin' 'bout your trim hunts, bro.
