Exposing a weak defense....while executing a superb offense!

I don't know how many times I saw Spur players getting wide open shots from easy range last night, but I was shocked to see they only had 21 assists the entire game! Looked to me like they had twice that many! They have to be the smartest team in the league hands down! If they can play any kind of defense against the Thunder and then the Heat, they may sweep both series!

Hey, Verlin, stick to the substance rather than making a personal dig against CJ. We all know his predilections. I agree, Pop is a basketball genius. But Corbin needs to counter his moves and he seems to playing right into the hands of Pop -- his player management (starting Howard) and substitutions (not playing guys enough when they're contributing like Burks and Carroll, and of course, Favors), and not counteracting the obvious plays that Pop is running to free three-point shooters.

To stop the Spurs you need to switch on the initial pick and roll between Parker/Manu and Duncan/Splitter. Everything is set up from this, they have it down to a science. You need someone like Favors who can guard Parker halfway on the perimeter. Yes Duncan has a mismatch now but with clever use of double teams on him from this point out and the shot clock on your side I think the Jazz would stand a much better chance. Another words....Al doesn't really have any place at all playing against the Spurs.

Remember a few years ago when we were in a series with the Lakers and they exploited the fact that Brewer couldn't shoot a jump shot if his life depended upon it. Kobe slacked off, played the passing lanes and killed us.

Well the Spurs are exploiting the fact that Big Al has no clue how to defend the pic'n roll. How many times in this series are we going to see Big All between the pg and the big. He ends up in no mans land and the Spurs end up with an easy shot. It's obvious to anyone with two eyes that Favors can play the pic'n roll better than Big Al. Sit Big Al and play Favors until the buzzer goes off at the end of the game.

....your assuming the Jazz have enough basketball "brains" to pull this off time and time again....and they don't! Actually, the pick and roll, when run properly is virtually impossible to stop...and we have proof in our own dynamic duo, Stockton and Malone, both of whom were the SMARTEST players at there positions in the history of the NBA!

thats not all sometimes big al even takes antoher jazz player out by collliding with them, getting in their way in and stuff so spurs play 5 on 3 for a couple of seconds
