Extend Hood ?

Hood is a nice complementary piece to a playoff team. Even if he shoots 36% or 37% from 3, it's enough to space the floor, and he'll knock down some big shots. He may not be a #1 or #2 option, but as a kick-out option or a 6th man, he's pretty ideal. JR Smith is making close to $14M right now. No way Hood isn't worth a bit more than that.

He earned his next contract when he stepped up for Hayward in Game 4 vs. the Clippers.

And Rodney Hood is better than 75% of those players. Plus a good deal of those players are still on rookie contracts and are just up for their options to be exercised, which they will be, so they arent competing for free agent money.

If Rodney has a good season, he is getting paid a lot of money.

Utah should just automatically max Hood, just in case he becomes really good.

Remember how many Jazz fans have criticized the FO for not maxing out Hayward after a mediocre season? Well, here we are again. Don't wanna take any chances of offending Hood in case he becomes really good.

We should max everyone from now on, just to be on the safe side.
