What's new

Exum

My hope is that he comes back to play some this season if possible. That way he's not spending the whole summer/offseason just getting back into relative basketball shape.

Jazz seem to be the kind to make players get back to 100% before coming back onto the court. I think if Exum does get approved he'd play as the backup or get limited minutes.

Seems like an unnecessary risk, let him get 100% healthy and let him get back into game shape in the off season. He is still working and getting better off the court.

You don't get in game shape without playing in games.

id keep em out.

hes not in any shape to make any kind of impact even when he does come back.

If he's 100% and they're sure I'd like to see him get backup minutes, thats best way to stay in shape stay in the game

Hold him out until next season. No reason risking injury.

Doesn't make sense. He is no greater risk after 9 months than 15. Ask Derrick Rose how sitting out 2 years protected him from future injury and helped his career (now a bottom 5 starting PG).

I'd be very happy if he got some backup minutes before the season ends. Obviously that should only happen if the doctors clear him. In other words, the injury risk argument is stupid. Every player on the court is always risking injury.

He had surgery to repair his ACL on September 3rd. When the playoffs start on April 16th, he'll be 7 and 1/2 months removed from surgery. It's way too early for him to play IMO. Even with a perfect recovery, there's stability risk of the joint if you overdo it too early.

I love Dante and I think he'll be fine NEXT YEAR when he returns.

I was thinking lat e July for some reason, guess we'll see him in October.

Final game of the regular season (literally) is Jazz at Lakers on 4/13. Playoffs start a few days after that. IF the Jazz make it, it's doubtful that they'd last long enough to make it worth the risk. Much better to let him have the full 9/10 months of rehab before resuming major basketball activities. Dante can't afford to lose his lateral quickness. Not worth the risk to rush him back.

I love you bruh, but you should really just leave it to the Jazz.

aren't even NFL players returning to full scale action in shorter time frames than that these days ??

Having said that i really don't particularly want him to rush. I also really would rather he doesn't play in the Olympics. One the role on the team isn't going to benefit his development and two would rather he just keeps building his strength and conditioning for next season
