Fan Dies at Baseball Game Video

Yeah I believe he fell from the grand stands. First base side. So odd how some things happen so close together like that. A friend of mine took a nasty spill head first about 15ft. Broke one wrist so badly that it was hanging by a piece of skin, shattered the other hand and wrist, broke her back as well. In all, she had about 8 surgeries on her hands and they finally just had to fuse her wrists together so she couldn't even bend her hand down or up. Those falls are scary.

Might have been. Either way, that would suck. I remember some guy falling off the grandstand at Yankee stadium onto the net. Cops didn't treat him too well when they pulled him off.

in Friday's game, a foul ball hit by Hamilton struck a fan in the face and injured him to the point he required stitches

pretty ironic

(anyone waiting for a third incident?)

Well that's pretty common, you have a guy who pitches 95 miles an hour, and a guy who swings 95 miles an hour, hitting a ball that's small and really dense. Then you have 20,000 people on either side watching it all happen.

Agreed that the last person this should have happened to was Hamilton. People need to realize that he is basically the franchise of that team and any fan would be honored to catch a ball that touched his glove or hand. It's bragging rights. It'd be like John Stockton throwing you a game ball. I'm sure people would go crazy for it. Imagine doing that for your son? You'd feel like the best dad in the world. The guy got over anxious and it was a tragic accident. The part that gets me is the guy was telling the paramedics, "Get my son. He's up there all alone." Very, very sad. I feel for that kid and his family.

The Rangers actually around this time of year had another guy fall from the stands. About a year and 1 day from yesterday if I'm not mistaken. Plenty of ballparks have signs saying not to lean over the railing. I could see the Rangers putting up these signs after the first accident but who knows if they did. There's been plenty of other fans in other ballparks who have fallen. This one just happened to be the worst one.

Bad analogy. How often do Baseball players throw balls into the stands? Pretty much any chance they get.

Two years ago we were at The Bees game and my daughter got hit on the arm by a foul ball. For about 1/2 hour I was worried that her arm was broken.
