Derrick Favors joins Anthony Davis as the only player since 2001 to have 25 points, 12 rebounds, 3 steals and 7 blocks in a game.

Favors jumper has a lot more consistent arc to it. I remember when he use to shoot ropes at the FT line and jumpers.

It's so mystifying to me. Derrick Favors is clearly the best player on this team (and has been for the second season in a row) and probably a bonafied star, but nobody seems to pay any attention to him.

I just looked, if you take out the two flu games when he hardly played, he's averaging about 20-10-2-2 on 53% shooting. Absurd.

We really need to bring his low post usage up. His post game is really looking good this year. The goal for the Orlando game should be to get Favs 40 pts. The thing is even with Rudy the other big can't really help because it leaves any easy put back dunk for him. That other defender has to keep a body on Gobert. We need to send the message that we own the paint on both ends, cut out most of the midrange stop and pop game and shoot more threes.

With our D we should be focusing on high efg% shots above all else on the offensive end. We're gunna get points in the paint and off 3's. You can try to get in the paint and we will smother you on the 3 point line. You can have the midrange J. You ain't beating us with that.

For the season (8 games) here are Favors averages:

50.5% FG, 65% Fts, 9.4 RPG, 1.4 APG, 1.8 BPG, 2.4 SPG, 1.4 TOspg and 16.3 ppg in 31.3 mpg.

Left unsaid in the past 10 or so pages of this thread is that we played without Gobert, and that we almost certainly would have won if he had played.
