Favors knee soreness takes him out

I've been saying that for a while. Jazz are much better defensively with Rudy and Favs both in the game. But we can't pay everyone and Lyles is developing nicely. At this point, I'd prioritize Hood and Hill. Use our draft picks on bigs. Who knows, maybe even Bolomboy develops into a very good back up to Lyles.

Lyles looks about as good as he did to start his rookie year, which isnt good. I still have faith in Lyles, but he is spacey on defense and inconsistent on offense. He isnt really someone I have 100% confidence in to be a successor to Favors if he where to leave.

I still feel like you have to prioritize Favors, he is our 2nd best overall player behind Hayward.

Hayward/Gobert>Favors>Hood>Exum>Hill>

I would consider that the pecking order of level of importance to the team.

A healthy Favs, yes. But he's averaging what, around 70 games/per over the 5 years he's been with Utah (and might be on pace to miss at least that much again)? He misses 10+ every season with various injuries, some of which just might be chronic. This is a guy in his prime who just can't stay healthy.

Averaging 70 games a season for a big is nothing to sneeze at. He played pretty well last year, if he can play that well at partial capacity then I'd be pretty excited to keep him even knowing he has a chance at always being hampered by something.

They can always rest him up before the playoffs Popovich style, that's all that matters, not regular season champions.

I can't see Favors getting a max with all these health problems either. He'll likely be out for months with just knee soreness
