Favors or Gobert?

For the record, it's Gobert and it's not that close. That's also not a dig on Favors, but Gobert is an EXTREMELY special player. Could potentially one of the greatest defensive players of all time and I really don't feel like that's a stretch.

But yeah, I'd rather have both and find scoring/spacing elsewhere (even though Favors is coming into his own there and Gobert has a lot of room to believably improve as well).

I stand by my statement. IF we moved either, it would be for someone special. Depending on who it is would decide my choice.

I'm more than willing to move either, for a very special player.

i have seriously considered trading Favors for Aldridge and I am a huge favors fan.

Ahhhh!! I'm not a huge Favors fan, he's classy and I like everything about him but I still would not trade him for Aldridge. Ever. There is no point in trading either, they're stronger together then any singular star could be. Blahhh
Agree to disagree!

Gobert is that special player. I don't think I'd trade him for anyone... in the league...

Favors is arguably the most underrated big in the entire NBA. Two-way guy with strong mind and good attitude, willing unselfish passer and a fantastic locker room guy... Only 23 years old too. As Rodney Hood wisely pointed out "I think a lot of people take him for granted, but we know what he brings to the table. When he does something like block a shot, or demand the ball down low, we get on his back. All of his teammates love him. He's a great player, and he's one of the most underrated players in the league, in my opinion."

Other fans may make the mistake of underestimating him but the Jazz fans should not. When he gets more comfortable with his PF role and improves his J/FT/3P this off-season he will post 20/10 next year and no one will be able to underestimate him anymore.

I really hope you are right, and I am a firm believer that Favors can be a special player. I think his athleticism and motor are hard to find in a big man. I just think he needs to improve his drive, his personal will to win and desire to do anything necessary to impose his will. As long as he has fade out game alongside all-star games he will remain under-rated. He needs to find that spark that will push him to dominate, otherwise he will remain a solid starter, maybe borderline all-star. Which is damn good, but I think we have all seen that Favors is capable of so much more when he imposes his will. If he finds a way to tap that in his daily play he will push himself closer to super-stardom.

I still think Favors is our best player and has the highest ceiling. He and Exum are the key to our future. Gobert and Hayward are incredible assets, but our title hopes rest on those two becoming stars.
