Favors secretly on the trade block?

Trade Hayward to Boston for nets picks(multiple), trade Favors to NOP for their pick, trade Hill to SAS for their pick. Trade mack and Jingles to the cavs for a future pick. Trade JJ Diaw to Toronto for an obviously very protected pick. Let Burks stuff the box score as the man and trade him for a pick this summer.

Throw money at FA while we build through the draft around Rudy.

You forgot to give the NBA 2K16 cheat code so the other team accepts any trade unconditionally!

I honestly believe that Paul Millsap is a massive upgrade for us and how we play. He played so well when Snyder was on the Atlanta staff too so there is familiarity there.

Golden State went from good to contenders when they added Iguodala. Iggy is a do everything type of guy who helped in so many areas that aren't listed stats. Millsap is that same type of player. We've been saying for a few years how we needed more veterans to progress. Well, we've all seen how much Hill and Johnson have helped us. Millsap would help us that much more. A stretch 4 who can defend is very rare yet we have the ammo to go out and get him. Favors, the OKC pick and a few 2nd's might get it done.

If we stay put, we might get upset in the first round or embarrassed in the second round. With Millsap, I truly believe that we could run with anybody not named GS. If we get crushed and Boston makes it to the East Finals, that's a very tempting place for Gordon Hayward. If he leaves, we lose all momentum especially since Favors has fallen so...

Iggy is a tough, versatile player who actually fared well in the playoffs in Philly. Millsap's withered in his post-seasons. I have no reason to believe he's just gonna be "the man" all of a sudden and lead us to the promised land. And even if he did miraculously play well when it matters for once, I'm not confident given our recent stretch that Hayward, Hill and others will too.

Other huge detail: When they traded for Iggy he was under a long-term contract. Millsap is not.

So Ibaka just got traded for some spare pocket lint of the Raptors (Ross and a late 1st rounder). That's probably Favors trade value, now or next year.

Disagree. More time left on contract younger and is able to be extended this offseason by whoever acquires him. Orlando was over a barrel.

I would trade Favors! His knee issues are a symptom of a much bigger issue; his back. He is still young, but the trajectory of games played to games played effectively can't be ignored. He's been useless in 50% of the games he has played this year, as opposed to only about 30% last year. He is not a great fit with Gobert, and in Utah there's talent left at the end of the money. I say ship him.

But he has been on the team a long time, was part of what we believed to be the core 4, and he really likes it here... I don't think we are allowed to trade him.

Seriously though things change. I don't think we need to force something but I don't think he turns into young Dwight Howard or Aldridge or antonio mcdyess or whatever other comp we had for him.

Sometimes guys can get traded... it happens.

I say trade him so you know it alls will talk about something else. All these trade Favors threads are an annoyance. You all don't know ****. Back problems causing IT band syndrome. Wtf are you talking about? Forget it. Just trade him already. And why your at it. Trade Burks along with him. Cause he doesn't fit and his *** is causing his ankle issues. And he's been hurt for 2 years and won't ever be the same. So glad you couch GMs don't run this team.... your opinions are out of this world bat **** crazy .

Umm. If 50% useless. What have his backups been? 80% useless? So what gives us better play? 50% of the time or 80? And his back is the cause of his IT band syndrome?? What?

So we trade Favors who is hurt and bring in someone to take his place? And this other team is going to want our PF who is useless 50% of the time? Or are we going to rely on LYles? I mean we are stacked and the 4. We have guys just ready to step in and produce. I mean that 80% is just a fluke and they will play better in the starting roll right? Against NBA starters? Great let do it then...

I don't know the details, but weren't a lot of people saying we had to make a choice to keep Favors or Hill financially?

Obviously, Millsap might not be the answer right now, given he is a UFA, but you have to start looking at Favors trades this year. Even if he's healthy, there is a chance we don't get to keep him due to financials. His value might not be high now, but I think it is likely that whatever value he gains from being healthier, he loses in becoming an expiring next season. If you're talking about wanting to be better for the 2018 season, then there might be value in getting a player now, and letting him develop chemistry over the remainder of the year so he integrates better next year.

Again, a lot of this hinges on whether there is a good trade to be found for favors, and you definitely want to keep him over selling him for pennies on a quarter (since Favors isn't at his peak value right now anyhow). Still, I think you have to at least start thinking about it.

Contenders for what? A second round showing? Sorry, but these last three games, just as I feared (as I worried about these three in another post pre-Dallas tipoff) has shown me that we are not nearly as good as I, or maybe even many of us, thought we were.
We are still the same good as I thought we were. 4th, 5th, 6th, ish seed. Maybe a first round win or hard fought first round loss.
I have felt this way about the jazz from game one until now.

Why does Miami want to pair Whiteside/Favors?
I would guess for the same reason many jazz fans don't want to trade favors and want to pair favors with gobert.
