Favors should always be the center.

No matter if its Kanter or Jefferson playing alongside him. In the last game Harpring talked about how he needs to play closest to the rim. Favors outside game has improved but he will always be best close to the rim. That is his strength.

The future needs to be Kanter at PF and Favors at C. I think that puts those guys in the best position.

Agree?

Disagree?

Agree mostly...... also agree with cyrone some too.

There are going to be some plays where Kanter is close to the basket, there are going to be some plays where Favors is close to the basket. Sometimes Favors will guard the "center", sometimes he will guard the "PF". It doesn't matter. They are big men, putting the "PF" or "C" tag on them is completely unnecessary unless you just have to things labeled.

Completely agree Beantown, and I been saying that for sometime now. If you put Favors on the power forward on defense he can be taken further from the rim, which is his strength is guarding the rim. On offense Kanter has the better outside shot, so put the 2 things together and Favors should be guarding centers period.

On offense it doesn't matter and they are interchangeable depending on the set/play. On defense, I would rather have Kanter guarding post based centers, as he has a bigger body to bang around down there and it would allow Favors to come from the weak side to block shots like Serge Ibaka. I think Favors playing full time at center would strain his body and shorten his career. Kanter would be too slow to guard most power forwards as well.

So when the Jazz run a play the PF and C do the exact same thing on each play?......

Offensively it doesn't matter, its basically who you want guarding the other teams "center" down low. I agree with you though, Favors is the better shot blocker and probably outweighs Kanter now so should play the 5.
