That should make you happy. Conley hopefully raises his trade value and we get a really important loss. This is the type of loss that hopefully makes the decision easy to move the vets.
 
Man Hardy gonna struggle when he has to live with mistakes by Collin and Kessler for 30 minutes a night no matter what.
 
Thoughts:

- The crunch time possession where Hunter made the open 3pt dagger was the this season's backcourt defense in a nutshell. Just braindead.

I guess Clarkson thought Ochai was giving too much space to Trae who was walking the ball up. For one thing, JC was dead wrong. Trae is shooting 32% from the perimeter this season. At that point in the game, you live with a heat check logo three from him 10 times out of 10 instead of letting him drive past you for an easy floater or lob. Anyway, once JC made the decision to leave his man and go "double" Trae, he didn't go all the way but stopped and floated in no-man's land, where he was useless. He didn't cover any of Trae's passing lanes, put no pressure on him. The Hawks then made the obvious play and moved the ball to the corner where Lauri had way too much ground to cover to pull off the emergency rotation, and he would've left his own man open for a dunk anyway.

- Overall, the defensive effort level by our guards was straight up insulting in this game. Painful to watch. Clarkson, Beasley, Ochai, Conley and Sexton all got punked and abused. Beasley in particular was even more trash than he usually is. No idea why Hardy kept him on the court in the 1st half when he couldn't hit shots and played matador defense.

I generally like Mike, but his absent minded defense is really tough to deal with. Sometimes he's just going through the motions out there. I know conserving energy is a pretty important skill when you get to that age in the NBA, but on this team, you can't do that. There's way too many bad backcourt defenders around him.

- Can't wait for Beasley, Olynyk and Vando to be off this team, for various reasons.

- Kessler and Ochai looked like rookies for a change. Kessler seemingly lost every rebounding battle against undersized Atlanta "bigs" and Ochai once again played smaller than he is. Agbaji needs to offer a lot more resistance when a wing sized opponent gets him 1-on-1 near the basket. You can't be a 3 & D guy without any of the D.

Defense is not our calling card. We were never a defensive team. We won all those games by out shooting our opponents not by stopping them. We are going to get swept once playoff starts.
 
I disagree for half on the defense part. First half was terrible but second was decent. Not saying good but decent. The problem was shooting . Usually when JC and Beasley shoot bad, Lauri have a good night. But today he wasn't and only Mike was decent. Not enough to get a win.

Ya our defense sucked but thats kind of normal for us. Our offense lost us the game. 29% from 3 wont cut it for this team. Shoot like we normally do and we win this game. Bad defense and all.

Silver lining of this game is that it seems like most everyone is finally realizing that KO sucks. Been saying it fir a long time now, nice to see everyone else getting on board finally.
30 minutes is way too much for him.

Also nice to see that the majority of the posters on here are finally catching up to the idea that hardy needs to play the youth more. I been saying that for quite a while as well. Sexton, Ochai, and Kessler all should ideally be playing 30 minutes per night (kessler was way way way too low on minutes last night and sexton was too low as well) and NAW and THT need to get some consistent burn. Trades need to be made if hardy wont change the minute distribution by himself. Force him to.

Wasn't able to watch the game but it's super interesting that Ochai is now closing games and getting more minutes than Sexton or Beasley
