Well, frankly we don't need anyone. All those concerned about the environment and saving the earth and such need to keep in mind the best thing that could be done for "planet earth" would be the eradication of all humans. We have been responsible for one of the biggest extinction events in earth's history. There is no purpose for humans greater than, say, the purpose of a groundhog, yet we continue to cater to our own comfort whilst destroying life on a xenocidal scale. Agent Smith had it right, we are no different than a multi-cellular virus infecting the planet. So the best thing we could do, if we are serious about "saving the earth", would be to get rid of the humans. Earth saved.
