Guys.. here's a place we can discuss NBA rookies for this year (who are not drafted by the Jazz).

I don't know if anyone would be interested but yeah.. here's a place we can all discuss it anyway.

I'll start...

- What position do you guys think Austin Rivers will play in the NBA? He's really not quick/fast enough to play the PG position for NO. Plus now that they've just matched Gordon - will he just be backing up Gordon at the SG position?

- Waiters looks like a keeper so far. He's splitting double teams, he's pulling off spin moves, he's dishing & hitting 3's. He's got that swagger. He's sort of like the Klay Thompson/Burks of last year. Imagined if the Cats had taken Thompson & Burks instead of Biyombo & Walker? They should have done what the Cavs did in taking Waiters early and take a chance on Thompson & Burks IMO.

- Lillard looks as hot as advertised. He looks quick off the dribble, can pass it, can get to the rim / take the contact and score. Man - wish we could have had him! But is he athletic enough?

Any thoughts?!?!

Rivers was drastically outplayed by Doron Lamb in a head-to-head matchup. Lamb scored 20 on him and was easily getting by him. That doesn't look good on Rivers, as Lamb is a very smart and crafty player with a killer shot, but he's not the fastest guy out there.

I still think Rivers has the sack to be good, but he has his limitations.

I like Waiters, but think he was picked too high .. can't imagine there won't be a half-dozen guys with better careers that were pciked lower (and were generally thought to have been the better pick at the time).

Lillard - Total enigma for me. I have less opinion of him and where he was picked than most anyone in the 1st round. Can't wait to see how he pans out, I suspect pretty well.

Are we talking about the same guy? Waiters was a chucker and failed to take over the game despite trying almost anytime he touched the ball.

He weren't consistent for sure. But I saw flashes there that tells me that there is enough talent there. He's got good size for a SG. He is fast on his feet. He can handle the ball. He's not afraid to shoot. He could play with the ball along side Irving and I think a pick & roll with Irving will be deadly (both can drive and both can shoot).

Is he a stretch to take at #4? Yes. But to me he has the kind of upside that Burks/Thompson had last year. And those guys are definitely outplaying the likes of Biyombo, Veseley, Walker and Jimmer who were taken earlier.

I respect what you are saying but no thank you. There are more reasons than one I feel that way but I won't get into it.

OK, let me set some things straight. Waiters is a chunky chucker. When I watched him play in SL, his only concern was making himself look better.

Neither of those things are comparable to Naruto. I like you Nickkk, but I might have to nwg rep you if you ever compare Naruto and Waiters again.
