If Uthoff were a Euro everybody would be drooling over him. He's AK with a jump shot.

Uthoff seems plenty athletic and I guess we'll see on the measurements - though I'm not sure if we have AK's measurements recorded anywhere. I think the place where Uthoff lacks the most is he isn't near the passer AK was.If AK had short arms and wasnt as athletic, sure.

He's not athletic and has short arms, yet somehow, at just 6'9", is one of the nation's leaders in blocked shots playing in one of the top conferences. Perhaps he's magical too.He is methodical with his approach. Not athletic at all... Plays smart, high bball iq.. Short arms like cy mentions... Aaron white couldn't stick in the league and he wasmore athletic then Uthoff...Nice college player but not even 2nd round worthy. Peter Jok is the nba talent on that Iowa squad. I watch a lot of Big ten ball so take it for what its worth.
NBA's one-and-done rule hurts college basketball and needs to change

Y'all got Uthoff pegged at the wrong position though. His ability to play the 3 will make or break his NBA career, I disagree with NColoradojazz about his athleticism, thats what peaked my interest, he can cover ground, and he's also got great timing.. It's why I told ya's months ago (when he was off most of the draft site's radar's) that he's a better prospect than Kyle Wiltjer..
DX absolutely loves Syracuse Freshman Tyler Lydon, who's a 6'9" bigman and often plays the role of the middle of the zone defense. He's listed as a SF/PF too, it's not dissimilar to Uthoff's situation.
Think... Thaddeus Young at Georgia tech, or even Khris Middleton at Texas A&M. Thats the type of transition he's going to need to make for it to happen.
I do think he'll go in the 2nd round, it's tough to say right now not knowing all the players who declare though. There could be a serious deluge of International players in this draft.
Now that the NBA teams are going to own the D-League, I suspect they will require 1 year professional or 2 years of college experience to enter the draft.
