Following 2016 potential draftees

@EvanDaniels
Five-star Australian point guard William McDowell-White just verbally committed to Fresno State, a source informed Scout.

Whoops. Thought this was the Aussie who was going to Duke. Five star and going to Fresno State?

Canadian Border Control arrested 30 year old Jonathon Nicola for violating the Immigration Refugee Protection Act. What they found out was that for the last 6 months the 6’9″ 200 lb Nicola has been posing as a 17 year Catholic Central High School student and Star basketball player.

We are not talking about a kid that was left back a couple times or reclassified to gain an athletic advantage. This is a literal example of a man amongst boys. Nicola was living with the Catholic Central head basketball coach who last year was quoted as saying that he had a legit chance of playing in the NBA.

The coach had to know he was not 17.

For what it is worth (12th probably to high for these guys), but both Zubac and Zicic say they want to play in the NBA next season. If we end up with another 1st round pick later. Two very interesting prospects.

NBAdarft has him underrated at 9.. DX has him overrated at 4.. He's safe as can be in the top-8 IMO..

He's a markedly better athlete than Stan Johnson or even Justise Winslow, his ability to accelerate is elite.

With Hayward, Burks and Brown, now you're talking about a team that can cause havoc getting all the way to the basket.. They've got some good weakside shooters(and offensive rebounding) in place too..

I really like Brown and think he's a better prospect than both Winslow and Johnson from last year.

Is brown a better prospect then murray?

Depends on definition of prospect. I would take Murray before Brown. Not because of better upside (which Brown has, imo), but because Murray is an elite scorer, can play either guard positions, and has an assassins mentality.

I think Murray has it upstairs and will make him a star.

Haha. Did he at least put up decent #'s?

Newest players at the top of the 'Why doesn't he have a UK offer yet?' lists are;

2016 - Kostas Antetokounmpo (obviously not gonna happen. just throwing it out there one last time)
2017 - Brandon McCoy (no way should Obiagu get an offer over Big B)
2018 - Simi ****tu (Hon mention. Jordan Brown, Bol Bol, Khavon Moore)
2019 - Cole Anthony (Hon mention. RJ Barrett)
2020 - Kyree Walker (Obviously speculative, 6'4" already, will be a dynamic/athletic SF, already has a nice handle/ability to get to the rack)

Cal offers VERY few players beyond the next recruiting year. Too much can change and the shininess of the offer can wear off.
Instead, he casts a wide net and let's players know he's watching, what he would like them to work on, makes himself available for advice, wishes them well.. and "he'll be in touch." He makes them feel like they have to earn the offer and that nothing is freely given because of talent alone. He even gets into their grades having to get better, wanting to see their willingness to be a volunteer/be good in the community... all before an offer is extended. That's the norm.

I just wonder, specifically about the can't-miss prospects on the west coast, that it wouldn't be better to give those players offers as early as possible.

2017 players like Jaylen Hands(before he committed to UCLA), Brandon McCoy, and Jordan Brown in 2018 would be examples..

Now I'm sure they've been in contact with Troy Brown (2017) and if Young were to go elsewhere, I'd imagine they'd offer on Duval too.

Cole Anthony is a no-brainer though, I GUARANTEE you, eventually, he gets an offer.. So I figure I'll post it now..

Charles Bassey in 2019 is obvious too.. forgot to mention him

That Kyree Walker in 2020 is legit too, could be one of those west coast prospects I'm talking about..

Duval is going to Duke, period. Cal is ALL IN on Young and I'd say he's close to a lock.
Troy Brown is getting love.
Same with Cole Anthony.
Haven't heard much from staff on McCoy.. not that I hear everything, of course.

Like I said, he is a recruiting machine... he speaks to EVERYONE... but then he zeroes in later in the process. That's why I think we have great chemistry. He gets to know the kids well before offering.
