What's new

Following 2016 potential draftees

yeah, Ulis is around 170.

He's badass and I'm pulling for him. It pisses me off that a kid with 1/10th of his acumen and work ethic can succeed and he may not... but he may not.

So that's +15 lbs since the UK pro-day last year and 5lbs more than the Jazz list Bryce Cotton at.

If he can continue to pack on some more muscle, close to 180lbs is probably best. Kemba Walker is of similar dimensions, slightly taller, was 184 at the combine and went 9th. I don't see why he wouldn't be a high 2nd rd pick.

I just have trouble projecting him in the first, for some obvious reasons.

Hopefully he kills it this year, I have faith, he's certainly one of the best prospects I've seen at that size. Because of his defense, P'n'R ability, shooting, handle and overall toughness. He's also efficient.

Can Ulis even score that well? Pretty much every super undersized PG in the league has been an excellent scorer. Don't think a guy that small who is just a regular PG can make it in the nBA.

Yes, he can... but he's a consummate distributor. He can get by his man anytime and shoots a very good % 3.
I'm not projecting him other than a stellar college player, stellar.

Chad Ford Mock Draft 1 highlights

The usual suspects at 1,2,3
4. Sixers (via LAL) - Jamal Murray
5. Raptors (DEN's pick via NYK swap) - Dragan Bender [Yes, the Raptors might get a top 5 pick for Andrea freaking Bargnani]
7. Celtics (via Brooklyn) - Malik Pope [Draftexpress has him at #30]
8. Kings - Malik Newman [For the people who thought Malik Pope was a typo]
14. Jazz - Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk
15. Celtics - Ivan Rabb
26. Clippers - Isaiah Briscoe

I'm guessing Caris Levert is probably somewhere on our watchlist as a back-stop pick, assuming he can really play the 1.

Err... though that foot injury adds a red flag. Nevermind.

Jamal Murray looks awesome. Nice speed, great control, nice touch, nice decisions, nice size for a PG. Pretty impressive for an 18 year-old.

By later this season, the jazz will be in a strong position to go all-in on a trade for a major talent. They'll have all their young pieces well evaluated, except for Exum, and can see if they've got one more big move in store to push the team to an upper echelon.

Lots of options.
