Following 2016 potential draftees

And struggles to get to the FT line at all. He is closer to Trey Burke's ability to draw fouls than Hayward's.

Your ability to draw fouls, more than almost any other offensive stat, is kind of what determines your ability to be a top scorer on a team.

Last two seasons: ability to get to FT line much more similar to Rodney Hood than Trey Burke. Not that that's saying much. All three are well below average in this respect for a "scorer."

I think the Jazz will have some good euro's available at 52 and 60. Maybe not Zipser anylonger, but there are a couple others that I don't want to mention for fear of jinxing it.

Zisper would be a great draft and stash prospect. I think that any and all 2nd round picks should be used on guys like that for the next couple of years (unless a stud falls unexpectedly.) Also, I'd rather see them use the 2nd round picks than trading them for future ones. That move bombed. Just take the best Euro kid on the board and see what they make of themselves.

Damn, just heard an interesting note from Locke on an interview with PK. He said something along the lines that Utah wanted to go small more, but since they lacked big wings they couldn't really do it. He thinks Hayward can play the 4, but having Ingles as the 3 makes it too hard since he isnt athletic or big enough to help out on the boards. I wonder if that means they will target a guy like Luwawu/Prince/Brown(moving up for that last one).

Good point. It's amazing how good of a scorer he is without the free throws to boost his numbers.
Imagine if he starts drawing more fouls.
22 ppg in 33 minutes for the season. 42.5% from three, 47% from the field, 87.3% from the line.
If he ever starts drawing fouls and gets more minutes then watch out
Just looking into Thompson's stats some more.
Year 2... 42% from the field, 40% from three and 50% efg.
Year 3.... 44, 41, 53
Year 4... 46, 43, 55
Year 5... 47, 42, 56

PPG have went up every year despite his minutes going down the last two years.

that's weird?

I've always felt hayward's best mismatch was the 4.
Any conversation that involves Ingles is a non-starter.

I don't see Luwawu as that guy. Worst rebounder of the bunch. I'm not sure he's much more of a help there than Burks.

That's also why I was hoping Jazz might find a steal in Zipser. Won't create much offense (though seems adequate in a team concept), but seems to do almost everything else well enough to potentially be a good part of a lineup like that.

Jazz have depth. Problem is there isn't enough of a difference between the starters and the bench.

Jazz bench was bad last year. It got worse with the loss of Exum and Burks. The bright spot was Lyles but the Jazz 's bench will be better with the return Exum and Burk because now Mack goes to the bench which will add some scoring ability.

Thompson scored 37 pts in a quarter. In game 6 against OK he came up big down the stretch to help GS win game 6. The game has changed and if you can make 3 pts like Klay, then FTs attempts aren't going to prevent you from being a top scorer.

Well Burks is actually a really good rebounder when he focuses on digging in on the boards, so if Luwawu is as good of rebounder as Burks, just with SF size, that would be more than adequate IMO.

Yeah, Thompson is one of the best, if not the best, microwave type player. On top of that, he is a top wing defender and a high IQ player (rare combination of skills). He is a great player, he just doesnt have Hayward's versatility and I dont think he could do what he does on a team without a top 5 player.
