Following 2016 potential draftees

Yes, this is high school. And yes, these are highlights, but look at this ish... Derrick Favors never looked better than this at that age.

I'm sorry but you can't really think Favors never looked better than that in HS!!!

At 6'10'' 245 he was doing dunks from Lavine's winning dunk contest.

Here's highlights from a single game:

BTW, that's coming from one of Maker's fans in this draft. I'd be totally oK with taking him at 12...

Catch, you better be trolling. Maker isn't that good. You've seen highlights, cool. Watch a whole game, please.

A guy I know watched him play a few games in Canada when Maker was in HS. Said he was pretty overmatched against kids half his size with half the talent, AND he was older than them. This guy watches a ton of basketball, so I trust him. Could Maker eventually become a role player? Maybe. But I guarantee it won't be on his first contract or first team. Freaking Biyimbo was less raw than this kid.

Still want Furkan Korkmaz at #12, and then trade up for any number of players.

Denver, Boston, Phoenix and Philadelphia all have multiple picks in the first round. Trey Burke, multiple 2nd round picks and cash should be enough to move up into the late first somewhere. Ideally, I'd love the Jazz to go get a stud (like Gobert, Hood or Butler) that falls into that range. Somebody will fall, and the Jazz should aggressively go after them.

Favors was still 18 at this point and already 245 lbs, Thon is 19 and 216 despite being 2 inches taller. That matters for a big, a lot. NBA bigs will box him out with one arm.

Let's also remember that the state of Utah is a perfect match for who Hayward is as a person.

I also think about how the Spurs got guys like Duncan, Parker and Ginoboli to all take less than they clearly could have gotten as a sacrifice for the whole that is the team. As a Spurs man, Lindsey, I would hope, will try to convince Hayward to do the same.

I think getting a 2017 1st for Burks and Burke should be a priority but I'm not sure how realistic it is. Having said that, I would strongly consider trading Burks to the Kings with the unencumbered right to swap picks with them next year. If not them, another perennial loser.
