Following 2016 potential draftees

Locke says they have someone they really like

According to Locke he's hearing rumors that Jazz are trying to get back into the first round.

It was on his podcast today. He says he knows the Jazz really like someone and they would like to get into the second half of the first round. He wouldn't say who it was, but he did say he was not impressed with Maker.

Perrin also said someone really surprised them. So who is the person who the Jazz worked out--maybe someone who was projected second round--that impressed them enough to want to get back into the draft?

League executives say that there continues to be a great effort by teams to move out of the mid-to-late first-round.

I wonder what the asking price would be for a pick 20-25. Someone with potential would be there. Furkhan, Valentine, Zizic.

This makes no sense to me... Seems to be a lot of value there and guys will be basically free for four years with the new cba. The Jazz will have to get one of these picks me thinks.

Interesting that no one will part with picks during the year then draft night comes and people can't wait to give them away.

I think we get Furkan... He wants to be here to develop and I'm guessing some teams don't want to commit a roster spot and coaching staff to that effort.

Ostensibly, the Jazz are offering Trey Burke, a 2nd-rd pick, and possibly Mack's non-guaranteed deal.... just me guessing out loud.

Absolutely, makes no sense to me either. I guess it points to just how bad GMs think this draft is.

I think Philly may be willing to deal one of 24 or 26. Atlanta probably willing to deal 21. Denver might move off of 19.

Could see us nabbing a big wing like Bembry or Prince. Or going for a high ceiling development guy like Maker or Korkmaz.

This draft is fairly intriguing to me.

I think they are all in win-now save my job mode... as well as the teams that have horded picks now realize we don't have roster spots to bring over 17 rookies this year.

DL needs to be all over this... I know he is, but GMs look like they are selling low here and willing to deal.

Local sources say there continues to be a great effort by the Utah Jazz to move Trey Burke. Surely someone can get together here.

A few minutes before the draft, Trey Burke's camp isn't sure what will happen. They are hoping for clarity tonight

I'd be willing to part with any of the spare parts discussed earlier or the OKC 1st to get something in between 19-26 in this draft. There are some guys there that look like rotation players that will provide value that will far exceed their contract.
