Following 2016 potential draftees

2nd post ever! I personally like Ben the most overall. I don't think he's Lebron, I think he'll very much be his own player. However, I think Bender or Skal will end up going first. Gms just don't pass up 7 footers that can shoot with skill these days.
A guy the Jazz could take a look at who I think would be late 1st round atm is Deng Adel from Louisville. Strong chance he climbs in my opinion though. 6'7, great defender, strong, is a slasher but can shoot the 3 as well. He's a really smart player. Going to surprise a lot of people

You think he'll be superior to Giannis at playing all 5 positions?? I don't. (I've got Ingram as the best over-sized SF prospect since Giannis, I think he's a better prospect - just watch him shoot..)

I'm weary about those LSU measurements, I don't think Ben's a legit 6'10 in shoes. A 7' wingspan and 9' standing reach are probably overstated too. Are his previous measurements not in Julius Randle territory???

Playing Ben at SF next to Favors and Gobert, puts a ton of pressure on the guards to space the floor - I don't really see how that's balanced.. The team would be doomed to the middle of the pack or worse from the 3pt line... Obviously that displaces Hayward to the 2 a bit more too.

Playing him at PF makes more sense for the Jazz, IMO his games best suited for the wing though... At PF for the Jazz, would the rim protection and rebounding still be elite?

Age is also a factor, and IMO the Jazz seem to draft young - Seems their all about player development.. Brandon Ingram's 14 months younger than Ben, He's also much less of a finished product IMO.

Skal for intance is a much more seamless fit, he fits the scheme and everything they try to do with the bigs, he can actually hit mid-range shots with much more consistency than any of our current bigs, plus he'd only add to the defensive and rebounding advantages.. Like I said in the last post, Simmons would totally overhaul the teams dynamic - I kinda like the idea of keeping this blueprint, they just need to cut out some weak links, and replace them with huge talent upgrades, and that should be enough to tip the scales..

Veddy interesting, I thought I was going to be the first person to post something like that (about Bender being able to overtake Simmons spot) Jamal Murray could pass him too.

Deng Adel's not bad pick to crash the 1st round at all, he'd be our 3rd Aussie. I hate to generalize, but there seems to be quite the pipeline of Australian-Sudanese basketball talent making its way to the NBA, most of the highly touted ones look very legit IMO . Stands to reason Deng could benefit from the Ray Smith injury. I like him better than some of these older SF's mocked in the late 1st round, like Jake Layman, and Troy Williams.

If he shoots it well from 3, which he's more than capable of doing, I could certainly see him near the first round. He'd fit well on this roster too I like Timothe Luwawu better, Adel could very well be a better fit though - been waiting for an over-sized SF to get drafted here for years.

Deng also has the advatage that he will have a nice steady supply of strippers to keep him up for the games.

Bender so far with modest numbers in Israel. Playing about 13 minutes a game. Of course though this is a professional league playing against grown men. Interesting to see if his numbers go up as the year goes along. Then again if they think he is headed to NBA after this season what incentive do they have to play him much.

Drafting Simmons would be best. Just trade Lyles as fast as possible for something. Have Simmons back-up Favors for 2 years (that is how long he will have left on his contract once Simmons is drafted). Re-evaluate once Favors is up for a contract to either move on with Simmons or stick with Favors with Simmons as his back-up.

Adel? Srsly?

He will likely climb to being Louisville's best player on their trash team. He could possibly make it to first round but he's nothing special.

Great plan.

Let's hope the FO is reading this thread.
