Which is why it's ideal to have a bunch of 2nd round picks.. So they can coerce multiple international players to declare and remain in the draft pool, because their positioned to make (and keep) promises. (This includes college players to be stashed overseas, like Olivier Hanlan... sorta)
Nik Slavica in the 2nd round could be an interesting prospect for Utah to stash.. He's quite athletic/twitchy and lifts off the ground quickly. and I'd guess sports a wingspan over 7', wouldn't be surprised if he's still growing either.. born in the summer of '97 would make him one of this drafts youngest. there will be players his age getting drafted for years to come.. He's certainly got plenty of defensive potential..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3PBvUcE1Us Here's the highlights from his outburst the other day. He's kind of rigid in half-court offense, he can get to the rack though and he's clearly an NBA level athlete defensively, which makes him an intriguing prospect at this stage.
I also can't help but think that the Jazz might prioritize a C to stash(Possibly Qi, Jeanne[who's more of a 7'2" PF] or even Zubac in the 1st).. They had Tomic stashed, traded for a stashed Pleiss, so now there's kind of a void. I like the idea of paying for another developmental C project like that, it's $$$ well spent for an NBA team. Kinda hoping that continues - 7'3" Yousoupha Fall!!
Saw Slavica play during the summer and was pretty impressed.
