Following 2016 potential draftees

If the jazz are drafting and luwawu and korkmaz are on the board who do you take?

Assuming they're both considered good shooters, take the one with the better handle, passing and IQ. That said, I think Korkmaz is clearly the better shooter right now, so you'd have to believe in Luwawu's development curve.

The thing that makes the Warriors great is that they put 4 or even 5 guys on the floor who can all shoot, drive, pass and make good decisions. Each guy can play with a certain level of autonomy and Steve Kerr lets them play freely. That said, shooting comes with a premium. The Warriors play guys like Barnes and Rush as much or more than Iguodala because they're more reliable shooters.

This is tough. I don't disagree with this logic. But we need a legit athlete on this team.

I like Luwawu's physical tools. The question for me is whether he's more than a straight-line driver and spot-up shooter. Being able to put the ball on the floor for a few dribbles, make space with the threat of a pass and then hit a shot makes a huge difference.

The way i look at it is offensively korkmaz gets the nod. He is above luwawu in almost every catagory but not by a huge margin.

While defensively luwawu gets the nod because he is better in almost every catagory. The sad part is by quite a bit. Korkmaz is just awful. His stance is bad he doesnt have the defensive desire to be even decent, at least not now.

Luwawu already does some things very well and he seems like the kind of person who just wants to beat his guy.

I would go with luwawu. Jazz dont need a 1 way player.

Luwawu posted blow out #'s this season, while joining a new team/taking a step up in competition.. Thats going to leave many with the impression he could just be scratching the surface in his development..

Let's say you were the GM of Utah: would you prefer using our pool of assets to move up and get the guy you really like, hoping that some other GM is willing to deal since it's supposedly a weak draft? Or do you hoard your assets for that sweet sweet 2017 draft to try and move up, but have to deal with GMs being reluctant to deal since it is supposed to be a much stronger draft? I'm asking more for someone in Luwawu's 8-12 range, but I suppose the question still stands if it's someone in the top of the draft too.

I figured there'd be more fallout from this Derryck Thornton x-fer..

Maybe Thornton is just not that good. :)
