Following 2016 potential draftees

Ugh. How do we feel about a George Hill acquisition?

I like him as a player... I don't like the veteran rental. It would depend on what we gave up. If it was #12, Burke and cap fodder for Hill & #20... I'd be on board depending on who was still on the draft board. I doubt Indiana does that deal though, but Bird's recent GMing hasn't been great.

Nando De Colo would not cost any draft picks or players. Just need to outbid everyone. :)

goddamn, lately there's been no need for me to participate in any thread with HH. It would be redundant.

After listening to Perrin and Maker after today's workout I'm even more OK with us drafting him at 12.

I'm trying to see the major knocks on him...

He's unproven like a HS one and done guy used to be... He needs to add strength.

He's got elite size. Is an elite athlete for his size... or at least a decent athlete. He's smart and seems like a hard worker. He has some skill as far as shooting goes.

If I was swinging for the fences I'd take a gamble there.

Please post links. I have no idea what you're referring to and I'm too busy with work to be able to find it.

He did in the draft workouts thread.

Some highlights from Walt Perrin:

About Maker:
-him and Paige did really well going through the workout having in mind they had a workout yesterday in New York for 25 teams.
-his body might need 2-3 years before he's ready, but Perrin said he can see a coach give him minutes because of his shooting/faceup game.
-he watched him play 2 years ago, he's gotten bigger, smarter and his shot is better than back then(IMO, all good signs that he's working and improving his game)
-offensively he's likely going to be a faceup player, rather than post up(because of body type), defensively he might have hard time with strong bigs, but he will probably be able to guard players on the perimeter - quick for his size and long.
-he's a very good athlete from baseline to baseline, average to above average athlete vertically(that's interesting because his testing suggest his vertical athleticism is elite)
-good rebounder(good numbers for his age group)
-about basketball IQ - he's a very smart player, picked up things easily, willing to learn. Probably didn't have great coaching so far. The learning curve might be really quick in terms of picking up things.

About Demetrius Jackson:
-good, strong, able to get to the basket, shot it well during drills, above average 3p shooting
-has a way to go defensively... "he's so strong though".

Marcus Paige:
-smart basketball player
-can play PG

Early impressions - Dejounte Murray from Washington (he's been saying he loves his physical attributes, he's been mentioning him in almost every podcast):

I think he might be his guy this year. For a player off-the-radar for most Jazz fans and most mock drafts(in the Jazz range), Locke sure is paying disproportionate amount of attention to him.

I just think Locke hasnt really started doing his "scouting" yet. He is Pac-12 focused, being as Stanford fan, so it makes sense he talks about Murray a lot.
